“The Day He Wore My Crown”, a Resurrection Story Concert, presented by The Stop-Gaps Choral Ensemble.

It tells of Jesus’ mission on earth, His Passion, Death and Resurrection, in hauntingly beautiful melodies that linger long after the concert is over.

Presented by The Stop-Gaps Choral Ensemble, “The Day He Wore My Crown” is the story of the Christ’s Resurrection, in song, created and arranged by David T. Clydesdale.

The works include pieces by Dallas Holm, Dottie Rambo, Phil Johnson, Tim Sheppard, Bill and Gloria Gaither, Michael W. Smith, Brent Lamb, Lanny Wolfe and Lari Goss.

“The Day He Wore My Crown” - the Resurrection Story Concert, presented by The Stop-Gaps Choral Ensemble; created and arranged by David T. Clydesdale, the concert is now in it’s 36th year.

The Concerts will be performed at various churches across the city.

THE STOP-GAPS JUNIOR CHORAL ENSEMBLE

The Stop-Gaps Junior Choral Ensemble comprises talented children whose singing potential has been harnessed by Alfred J. D’Souza and put through their paces by the reputable music teacher, Premila Coutinho. The ensemble has been invited to perform at award ceremonies and has been on the back-up tracks of the musical ‘Maya’ staged by Teach India. They were also a part of the ‘Very Verdi and Wonderful Wagner’ concert and the Pawsitive People’s Awards Ceremony, enthralling the audience with their performances.
In 2013, the Stop-Gaps Junior Choral Ensemble had the privilege of inaugurating the Budding Brigade Annual Concert co-hosted by the National Centre for the Performing Arts and the Stop-Gaps Cultural Academy. They have been the inspiration for hosting the first ever Children’s Choir Festival in India in 2019 !

‘The Beatz Crew’ was initiated through the CAS Programme (Creativity, Activity & Service) at Kanakia International School, Chembur.

The School theme this year is “212° The Extra Degree - Extra Effort and Care in the Pursuit of Excellence”.
While water is hot at 211 degrees and boils at 212 degrees - it’s that one extra degree, that makes all the difference.
Kanakia Intl. School aims to inspire their students to put in that "one extra degree" of effort in the pursuit of excellence.

With the school’s mission and vision at heart, ‘The Beatz Crew’ ensemble is motivated through the educational environment created by music, which brings them together and teaches students to be reliable global citizens.

As they embarked on their journey of musical exploration under the guidance of their mentor and music director Mr. Felix Hug, their passion has driven them to delve into Rap, Blues, traditional African music and musicals.
During their performance at the 2023 Mahindra Blues Festival in February, in collaboration with the Nanhi Kali Foundation girls, they witnessed two different worlds come together to share the magic of music, which taught them that music has no boundaries or language barriers.

SYMPHONY VOICE JUNIORS CHOIR

Embracing the harmony of youthful voices and the power of music, the children's choir Symphony Voices Juniors, for students in grades 6-12, presents an exhilarating theme for this year's concert: 'Mad About Musicals.' As these young minds transition through their formative years, they are not only learning to master the art of vocal performance but also discovering the true essence of collaboration, discipline and self-discovery, all through their shared passion for music. With this year’s theme 'Mad About Musicals,' the stage becomes a canvas for their boundless enthusiasm, where every note sung and every melody woven together, amplifies their fervor for the art. This choir not only uplifts hearts but also nurtures the talents and aspirations of the future generation, proving that when dedication meets melody, the result is pure magic. Join us on a melodic journey as we delve into the remarkable world of the Symphony Voices Juniors’ choir, where passion meets skill, and voices unite to create something truly extraordinary.

Presented by the NCPA & Stop-Gaps Cultural Academy .... now in its 28th year - The Young Talent concert series - presents three young pianists who are carving a niche for themselves in the world of music.
Nupur Ballal, 12, began playing the piano at age 4 and has performed extensively abroad. Her recitals will include the works of Bach, Haydn and Prokofiev.

Tavan Shah, 19, who has performed in India and abroad as well extensively - will perform the works of Mozart and Chopin.

Daniella Alphonso, 20, is the recipient of many awards for the piano, and also plays the violin! Her recital will include the works of Beethoven and Mendelssohn.

The Stop-Gaps Cultural Academy is the realization of a dream which began as the Stop-Gaps Choral Ensemble, under the direction of its dynamic conductor, Alfred J. D'Souza.

In a short while, the dedication, drive and enthusiasm of its Managing Committee and members helped to expand it to a fully registered Cultural Academy, which encompasses the promotion of music,d ance and drama, and has left an indelible mark on the Mumbai music scene.

The Young Talent Concert Series, which was started in 1989, provides a platform for young artistes from all over India who have achieved a degree of proficiency in Western music, to showcase their talent. Across the years, it has been the springboard to success for many talented youngsters.
