Exciting news alert! Hindalco is gearing up for a groundbreaking venture in the world of green technology.
We are set to commission a state-of-the-art battery foil manufacturing facility in Odisha, with a massive capacity of 25,000 tonnes with an investment of Rs.800 crores.
In close collaboration with OEMs, Hindalco is set to co-develop critical components for energy storage, marking a significant shift to high-tech metal solutions.
But that’s not all! To further our green initiatives the new factory will be powered by a 25 MW solar plant.

At COP28, Hindalco’s renewable energy initiative for aluminium decarbonisation was presented by Gib Hordes (SVP, Strategy, Hindalco Industries). A collaboration with Ayana Renewable Power-Greenko Energies, the project aims to develop 375-400MW of solar and wind power, along with 100MW of hydropower and storage for continuous carbon-free energy in our Odisha smelter. This is among the first renewable hybrid projects backed by pumped hydro storage globally in the Aluminium sector.
This initiative is part of our journey to becoming carbon neutral by 2050 and is just one more step toward a greener, stronger, smarter world.

Another quarter of ! Hindalco reported a consolidated EBITDA of ₹6,096 crore in Q2 FY24, an increase of 6% YoY.
All the business segments experienced improved QoQ performance. The Copper Business achieved its highest ever metal shipments and quarterly EBITDA of ₹653 crore, a 23% rise QoQ. Higher Can shipments have supported Novelis with another quarter of sequential improvement in Adjusted EBITDA and EBITDA per ton. The Indian Aluminium segment showed EBITDA improvements in both Upstream and Downstream Businesses, 7% and 16% respectively, due to higher shipments.
