The Yali is a mythical creature and a powerful symbol of protection.

For centuries The Yali has adorned pillars and entryways of South Indian temples in India.
This part horse, part lion and part elephant figure guards against the forces of evil.

We see them carved on prabhavalis of all deities , on Goddess Saraswati's Veena and even on Kanjivaram saree's.

The artist has depicted a rustic semi abstract image of the cosmic Defender on Canvas.

Today people buy evil eyes , or wear them to ward off negative energies but the fact is our own country has had these mythical creatures carved on temples since centuries.
