We sacrifice the animal, referred to as Udiyyah, meaning "the sacrificed" in Arabic as a reenactment of the sacrifice Prophet Ibrahim was ready to make at one beckon of Allah.

Through the reenactment, we personify the ideal that Ibrahim stood for. All of us are standing at our respective altars of sacrifice, serving ourselves for a greater cause.

Ram Navami is celebrated in honour of Lord Rama, one of the most revered deities in Hinduism. Lord Rama is considered to be the seventh avatar of the god Vishnu, according to Hindu mythology.

Devotees celebrate Ram Navami by engaging in various religious activities such as reading the Ramayana, participating in bhajans, performing puja, and visiting temples. It is a celebration of virtue, devotion, and the moral values that Lord Rama embodies.

Ambedkar Jayanti is celebrated annually on April 14th to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, who played a pivotal role in shaping modern India. Fondly remembered as Babasaheb, Dr. Ambedkar was a visionary leader, jurist, economist, and social reformer who dedicated his life to championing the rights of marginalized communities and laying the foundation for a just and inclusive society.
As one of the chief architects of the Indian Constitution, Dr. Ambedkar tirelessly advocated for social justice, equality, and the upliftment of the oppressed.

Bihu refers to three Assamese festivals in India, of which Rongali or Bohag Bihu, is the most celebrated. It marks the Assamese New Year and coincides with the onset of the agricultural season. Celebrated in mid-April, Rongali Bihu involves a lot of feasting, dancing, and singing.

Baisakhi is significant in Sikhism and is celebrated on April 13th or 14th in the state of Punjab and amongst Sikh communities worldwide. It commemorates the formation of the Khalsa Panth of warriors under Guru Gobind Singh in 1699. It also celebrates the spring harvest.

Vishu, celebrated mainly in Kerala, marks the beginning of the Malayali New Year. A key tradition is the "Vishukkani," where a ceremonial arrangement of fruits, vegetables, flowers, gold, and new clothes is prepared the night before, so it is the first thing seen upon waking on the festival day. This sight is believed to bring prosperity for the year ahead.

These festivals not only signify the agricultural and astronomical aspects of the season but also are a time for renewing community ties, celebrating cultural heritage, and enjoying the bounties of nature. Each festival, with its unique customs and traditions, strengthens the cultural aspects of the respective communities.
