Not based on what worked in the past or because I decided to make it a rule in the past.
Let's talk about something that might hit close to home for a lot of people:
😅People-pleasing tendencies, codependency, and that nagging fear of disappointing and letting others down.
So, picture this: you're constantly saying yes to everyone else, even when it means putting your own needs on the back burner. It's like you're always wearing this mask of agreeableness, even when deep down, you might want to say no or speak your mind. Sound familiar?; it's a struggle many of us know too well 😪.
Now, here's where it gets tricky. This habit of always trying to please others can lead us into a trap called ‘Codependency’. Ever feel like your sense of worth is tied to how others see you? Like you're constantly seeking validation from others to feel good about yourself? Yeah, that's the codependency talking. It's like we're stuck in this loop of needing others to define who we are, and it can mess with our heads big time.
At the core of people-pleasing tendencies and codependency lies a deep-seated fear of disappointing others. This fear can stem from childhood experiences, cultural expectations, or past traumas, where we learnt that our worth is dependent on meeting the needs and expectations of others. It's a natural inclination to prioritize harmony and avoid conflict, but when taken to extremes, it can erode our sense of self-worth and autonomy.
But guess what? It doesn't have to be this way. Breaking 🆓 from these patterns starts with a little self-awareness and a whole lot of self-love ❤️. Remember, it's okay to say no, to assert your boundaries, and to prioritize your own well-being. True relationships are built on mutual respect, understanding, and acceptance of each other's authentic selves.
YOU CANNOT POUR FROM AN EMPTY CUP
Easier said than done, but awareness is the first step!
Picture this: You're facing a tough decision or a challenging situation. Your brain 🧠 kicks into overdrive, analyzing every angle, considering all the possibilities, and trying to predict and CONTROL the outcome. This is your mind's way of trying to keep you safe.
But sometimes get so caught up in analyzing and rationalizing that we forget about our emotions—the gut feelings, intuitions, and instincts that are far more insightful and valuable than your thoughts ever can be.
Think of it like driving a car🚗. Your rational mind is the driver, steering the vehicle and making calculated decisions based on logic and reason. But your emotions are like the dashboard lights, signalling important information about the car's condition—whether it needs fuel, if the engine is overheating, or if there's a problem with the brakes. And we dont want to ignore those signals.
Emotions serve as valuable indicators⌖ of our internal state, helping us understand our needs, desires, and boundaries. They provide clues about what matters to us and what doesn't, whats working and what isn't.
❤️🩹So sometimes, if you are hit by strong waves of emotions….instead of trying to ‘think your way out’ maybe give in, FEEL it all and allow it to pass ‘through you’.
Healing is not a destination but a continuous evolution, a dance between vulnerability and empowerment. It requires patience, gentleness, and a willingness to embrace the process, knowing that healing is not linear but a spiral of growth and transformation.
As the journey unfolds, our scars become stories of triumph, reminders of the battles we've faced and the strength we've found within. And as we heal, there's this feeling of becoming whole again, of really getting to know ourselves once again and seeing the incredible resilience we carry. It's like finding a new appreciation for who we are and for the amazing spirit that keeps us going, despite everything.

Each part of the body represents a certain element of our life and our thoughts.
According to Louise Hay, the metaphysical author " The body like everything else is a mirror of our inner thoughts and beliefs. The body is always talking to us, if we will only take the time to listen. Every cell within your body responds to every single thought you think and every word you speak".

Our inner voice is formed by what we have heard from our parents/peers/teachers in early childhood. If they used a critical negative voice which implied "You are not good enough" we internalise this message and keep reinforcing it throughout adulthood
Breaking this cycle requires a conscious effort to reparent our inner child and heal old wounds, its essential to change our inner voice to that of a parent WE WISH WE HAD.
The good news is, as adults you CAN BE THE PARENT YOU WISH YOU HAD. We have the power to say better things to ourselves and change our inner dialogue. By consciously choosing to speak kinder, more encouraging words to ourselves, we can reshape our relationship with ourselves and embody a more confident version of ourselves.
