Most Revered Swami Gautamanandaji Maharaj was elected the President of the Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission at the meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Math and the Governing Body of the Mission held at Belur Math on 24 April 2024.
He is the 17th President of the twin organisation. Most Revered Maharaj has graced Mysuru Ashrama and Vidyashala in particular many a times in recent years.

Most Revered President Maharaj Swami Smarananandaji attains Mahasamadhi.

With deep sorrow we announce the passing away of Swami Smarananandaji, President of the Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, on Tuesday, 26 March 2024 at 8:14 pm at Ramakrishna Mission Seva Pratishthan hospital, Kolkata. He was 94.

He was admitted to Peerless Hospital in Kolkata on 18 January 2024 owing to fever and other complications. Subsequently, he was shifted to Seva Pratishthan on 29 January. Despite the best available medical treatment, his condition gradually deteriorated and he finally succumbed.

The cremation will take place at Belur Math on Wednesday, 27 March 2024 at about 9.00 pm. The gates of Belur Math will remain open all through till the last rites are completed.

Sri Kundana Nagendra, Vidyashala receptionist and vocal hobby mentor, not only fulfills his school duties but also contributes passionately to socio-cultural endeavors.

Recently, the Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama in Mysuru hosted the "Bhava Prachar" convention, where over 3000 delegates witnessed the release of Sri Nagendra's Kannada translation of Sri Adi Shankaracharya's "Bhaja Govindam," encompassing Vedic Suktas, Mantras, and Stotras.
The release ceremony was conducted by Rev. Swami Jitakamanandaji, the Adhyaksha of Mangalore Ramakrishna Ashrama and former Correspondent of RIMSE.

On our request he briefly shared his journey with the Vidyashala family:

"1999 ರಲ್ಲಿ 'ಸುಗಮ ಸಂಗೀತ' ತರಬೇತಿದಾರನಾಗಿ ವಿದ್ಯಾಶಾಲೆಯ ಪ್ರಪಂಚಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾಲಿಟ್ಟೆ. ಬೈಸಿಕಲ್ ಸವಾರನಾಗಿ ವಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಮೂರು ದಿನ ನಡು ಮಧ್ಯಾನ್ಹದ ತರಬೇತಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದೆ.

2002ರಲ್ಲಿ ಕರೆಸ್ಪಾಂಡೆಂಟ್ ಆಫೀಸ್ ಸಹಾಯಕನಾಗಿ ಬಡ್ತಿ ಪಡೆದೆ.
ಸ್ವಾಮಿ ಮುಕ್ತಿದಾನಂದ ಮಹಾರಾಜ್ ಅವರಿಗೆ ನನ್ನ ಅಧ್ಯಾತ್ಮ ಮನೋಧರ್ಮದ (ಹರಿದಾಸ ದೀಕ್ಷೆ) ಪರಿಚಯವಿತ್ತು ಹಾಗಾಗಿ ನಿಯಮಿತವಾಗಿ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಸಂಜೆಯ ಸಾಮೂಹಿಕ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಚಪ್ಪಾಳೆ ತಟ್ಟಿ ವಿಠ್ಠಲ ನಾಮಾವಳಿ ಹೇಳಿಕೊಡಲು ಸೂಚಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
ಹಲವಾರು ಬಾರಿ ಹಿರಿಯ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ವಾರ್ಷಿಕ ಸಮಾವೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಆಶ್ರಮದ ಜಯಂತಿ ಆಚರಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನನ್ನ ಹರಿದಾಸ ಸಂಕೀರ್ತನೆ, ನಾಮಾವಳಿಗಳ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಿ ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹ ನೀಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.

ಈಗಲೂ ಹಿರಿಯ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ವಿಠ್ಠಲ ಭಜನೆಯನ್ನು ನೆನಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾರೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಕುಂದಣ ಸರ್ ಎಂದು ಗುರ್ತಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ."

Our wildlife special guest of Vidyashala -- a big size leopard (3 to 4years) had fallen in the trap cage at about 11.30pm yesterday. {18th December)
The forest officials have relocated the animal to a secure place away from the campus as per the procedures of forest department at midnight itself.
Thanks to forest department and all our field and garden staff.
