CONGRATULATIONS REVATHI
Today II PUC results are out. We are very glad that Revathi of Kaliyuva Mane completed this milestone exam in flying colours. She had taken Science stream (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology) and scored 414 out of 600 (69%). This is a significant achievement considering that she was a first-generation learner from a very humble family.
We thank the teachers of Sarada Vilas College, Mysuru, donors, and well-wishers for helping her to achieve this feat and wish her the best in all her future endeavours.

A SCHOOL DROPOUT & DYSLEXIC BUILDS HIS LIFE

On 28th of January Koushik, our alumni sponsored food for all the children. On that day Koushik had come along with his mother, sister, and his niece. (He had donated to the school on earlier occasion too.) “Because of your school, my son could build his life”, were the words uttered by his mother, the moment she saw Brother (M R Ananth Kumar, Founder & Managing Trustee). Brother felt like sharing his inspiring story.

NISHTHA team visit
A team of 80 teachers from South India who were undergoing a workshop at Regional Institute of Education visited Kaliyuva Mane on 11th January, 2024, as a part of the National initiative for School Heads and Teacher’s Holistic Advancement (NISHTHA) on Equitable and Inclusive Education.
All the teachers put forth a volley of questions for almost one and half hours and which were answered by our volunteers Grp. Cap. V.S. Shivaraj, and Mr. M R Ananth Kumar, the Founder of Kaliyuva Mane. Every one not only appreciated this alternative education model but also felt the need of alternative schools for some of the children who were studying in their schools. They explored the campus and had an interactive session with the children & left the place with lots of pleasant memories.

On January 1st, 2024, we were invited by the Department of Psychiatry, JSS to give a presentation about Kaliyuva Mane. Dr. Basavana Gowdappa H, Principal and Dr. Kishore, Head of the Department presented a certificate to Kaliyuva Mane for taking progressive steps towards children and adolescent wellbeing. As a sequel to this, Clinical psychologist Sri Sudeep visited Kaliyuva Mane with his students on 5th January 2024 and interacted with our children.

Journey of JYOTHI – GRATITUDE TO ALL THE SUPPORTERS
• Jyothi Shree G (18 years) is from a rural backward family. Her parents were illiterates.
• She lost her father at a very young age.
• She joined Kaliyuva Mane as a day scholar, but was irregular. Her parents took her to clinical psychology department of AIISH, Mysore. As per the report, her IQ was 100 and she was suffering from a huge academic delay.
• She joined Kaliyuva Mane as a resident scholar in the year 2018. She got educated on an alternative education philosophy, “School for CHILDREN rather than Children for SCHOOL”.
• She passed the 10th standard Board exam in English medium in the year 2022, scoring 51.5% marks.
• She completed her Diploma in “Health Care Assistance” from Teresian College recently.
• Joyous Jyothi recently visited Kaliyuva Mane with a box of sweets and announced her success in life. Presently she is working as a nurse in “Ayushman Health Care.”

What a fantastic day of adventure, the November 26th was!
Our students and volunteers had an amazing school trip, filled with excitement. The children were unable to contain their enthusiasm, got up early in the morning. We explored the Ramadevara Annekattu, climbed the hill to see the Bettada Ranganatha temple, and enjoyed by playing in the water at Holenarasipura. The day continued with a visit to the beautiful Rosary church situated in the backwaters of Gorur Dam, Hassan District. We had delicious food which tasted better there.

VISIT TO A PLACE OF DISCIPLINE AND DEDICATION!
First time the children and volunteers of Kaliyuva Mane boarded Police buses. We were warmly welcomed to the Karnataka Police Academy auditorium on 16-11-2023. Mr. Renukha Aradhya, DYSP, provided us an overview of the academy and elaborated on the various training programs conducted at KPA. Children evinced keen interest by asking questions.
Children were divided into teams and each team was guided by an officer. We explored museum, showcasing an impressive collection of old pistols, swords, bullets, real human skull, skeleton, etc. Later we visited the Forensic labs, training areas, including marching grounds, rope climbing stations, swimming facilities, gun shooting, and classrooms. Children were thrilled when they were handed over real rifles to shoot at the target board.
We are grateful Mr. N. Niranjan Raj Urs, Deputy Director who was instrumental for our visit. We are happy to share few pictures which reflects our children’s curiosity and excitement. We offer a big salute to our Police officers, because of whose commitment, we are all safe.

ಕನ್ನಡ ರಾಜ್ಯೋತ್ಸವದ ಶುಭಾಶಯಗಳು!
ನವಂಬರ್‌ 1ರಂದು ಕಲಿಯುವ ಮನೆಯ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಸ್ವಯಂಸೇವಕರು ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ಸೂಚನೆಯ ಮೇರೆಗೆ ಕನ್ನಡ ರಾಜೋತ್ಸವವನ್ನು ಆಚರಿಸಿದೆವು. ನಾವು ಬೆಳಗ್ಗೆ 9 ಘಂಟೆಗೆ ಆಕಾಶವಾಣಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಸಾರವಾದ ನಾಡ ಗೀತೆಯಿಂದ ಆರಂಭಿಸಿ, ಅನಂತರ ನಮ್ಮ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಧ್ವಜವನ್ನು ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಹಾರಿಸಿದರು. ಸಂಜೆ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಗಾಳಿ ಪಟಗಳನ್ನು ತಯಾರಿಸಿ ಹಾರಿಸಿದರು. ನಾವು ಕೆಂಪು ಅರಿಶಿನ ಬಣ್ಣದ ರಂಗೋಲಿ ಮತ್ತು ದೀಪಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಶಾಲೆಯನ್ನು ಅಲಂಕರಿಸಿದೆವು.

Congratulations Divya for her feat!

• Happy to inform that Divya completed BCA scoring 81% marks in the final semester. Now waiting for CET results to join MCA. But her journey was not so smooth.
• Divya lost her father during her early childhood in a road accident.
• Her mother was working as a peon in Andhra Pradesh school.
• Her maternal uncle brought her to Mysore. She was admitted to a formal school. But she could not cope up with the rigours of the formal school.
• So, her uncle brought her to Kaliyuva Mane. A simple informal test revealed her academic lag. As per the clinical psychological report of All India Institute of Speech & Hearing, her IQ was 100, but scholastic performance level was at 4th standard (Primary school) at an age of 13 years.
• At Kaliyuva Mane, she was given special attention. She cleared class X exam in 2018 from Prajna team.
• This simple success restored her lost confidence. She went on clear to II PUC and now BCA. Kaliyuva Mane wishes her a bright future.

As per Kaliyuva Mane tradition, children collected clay and made the Ganesha idol by hand. Ganesha idol was kept inside the house made of coconut thatch. Children wore new dresses and had a good lunch.

Akhila Karnataka Ursu Parishath and Ursu Mandali Sangha, Mysore celebrated 104th Sri Jayachamaraja Wadiyar's birth anniversary in Kaliyuva Mane on 25th of July 2023.
Mr. Niranjan Raj Urs, Deputy director, Karnataka Police Academy, Sri. Lingaraja Urs, President of Ursu Mandali Sangha, Prof. P V Nanjaraj Urs, President of Akhila Karnataka Ursu Parishath, Sri. Mohan Desha Raj Urs, Secretary, of Akhila Karnataka Ursu Parishath, Sri. Nanjunda Raj Urs, Editor Urasu Dwhani Paper, Sri. MGR Urs,Editor, Urs Patrike were the guests of honors. They donated Photos, videos, and voice recordings of Sri. Jayachamaraja Wadiyar and they donated charts and library books to Kaliyuva Mane. Children enjoyed watching the biography and achievements of Sri Jayachamaraja Wadiyar.

MENTORING PROGRAMME BY NATIONAL INSTRUMENTS (NI) TEAM
Mentoring programme of 7 children of Kaliyuva Mane was initiated on 11th July 2023 at the premises of National Instruments, Bengaluru. Few were travelling first time to Bengaluru, that too by train. Shalini represented Kaliyuva Mane. They explored NI labs and played games. NI team took few sessions imparting knowledge about the industry. Hope this mentoring programme will go a long way in building the careers of our children. We would like to share a few happy moments.
