Some glimpse of the Sports day ( VPL - 2023-24) .

"Building Energy Simulation" workshop by Ar. Jiten Prajapati on 18 January 2024:

1) Climate sensitive design including the need, methodology, various analyses and considerations for design. These will be illustrated by case studies in various climates of India.
2) Demonstration of climate analysis using the Climate Analysis Tool for quick pre-design analysis and design recommendations for various cities of India.
3) Hands-on application and use of Climate Consultant software for climate analysis required for advanced passive solar architecture.
4) Learning eQuest software for basic understanding and energy conservation measures for estimation of thermal and lighting performance of buildings.

*Chandigarh Capitol Complex*
located in sector-1 of Chandigarh city in India, is a government compound designed by the architect Le Corbusier and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.It is spread over an area of around 100 acres and is a prime manifestation of Chandigarh's architecture. It comprises three buildings: the Palace of Assembly or Legislative Assembly, Secretariat Building and the High Court plus four monuments (Open Hand Monument, Geometric Hill, Tower of Shadows and the Martyrs Monument) and a lake.

*The Gandhi Bhawan*
is a major landmark of the city of Chandigarh, India, and a center dedicated to the study of the words and works of Mohandas K. Gandhi. It was designed by architects B.P Mathur in collaboration with Pierre Jeanneret.

*AC JOSHI LIBRARY*
Designed by Swiss architect Pierre Jeanneret in collaboration with the university architect BP Mathur, library expert BS Kesavan, and librarian JS Sharma, the library was inaugurated in 1963 by the first Prime Minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru.
Panjab University (PU) will soon submit a proposal to the Chandigarh administration and other government agencies for getting Unesco heritage status accorded to the AC Joshi Library on campus.

Museum and Art Gallery and Chandigarh Architecture
Museum
Government Museum and Art Gallery, Chandigarh, is a premier museum of North India having collections of Gandharan sculptures, sculptures from ancient and medieval India, Pahari and Rajasthani miniature paintings. It owes its existence to the partition of India in August, 1947.

2)Le Corbusier center

The old Architects office currently named Le Corbusier Centre is one of the earliest buildings constituted in Chandigarh.
The museum was a workplace of Le Corbusier and his team therefore, building is of immense historic value to Chandigarh.
The modest structure of building may well be considered as a seminal attempt at introducing concepts of sustainability and green Architecture in the architectural annals of Modern India.

3)Rock Garden Chandigarh
The Rock Garden of Chandigarh is a sculpture garden for rock enthusiasts in Chandigarh, India. It is also known as Nek Chand Saini's Rock Garden of Nathupur after its founder Nek Chand Saini, a government official who started building the garden secretly in his spare time in 1957.

4)Sukhna lake
Sukhna Lake in Chandigarh, India, is a reservoir at the foothills of the Himalayas. This 3 km² rain fed lake was created in 1958 by damming the Sukhna Choe, a seasonal stream coming down from the Shivalik Hills. Originally, the seasonal flow entered the lake directly, causing heavy siltation.

1)Tughlaqabad fort
The fort was built by Ghiyas-ud-din Tughlaq, the founder of the Tughlaq dynasty, in 1321. Purpose: The fort was intended to serve as the third capital of the Tughlaq dynasty and as a symbol of the dynasty's power and authority.

2)Sri Ram center
Shri Ram Centre for Performing Arts or SRC one of Delhi's best known theatres. An independent unit dedicated to the promotion of arts and culture, the centre is the leader of Delhi's theatre scene. It is known for producing one or two new plays every year.

3)Lotus temple
The Lotus Temple, located in New Delhi, India, is a Baháʼí House of Worship that was dedicated in December 1986. Notable for its lotus-like shape, it has become a prominent attraction in the city.

Delhi Chandigarh tour (Day 02)

1)India gate -
India gate delhi was built to commemorate the Undivided British Army (also known as British India Army) soldiers who laid down their lives during the First World War and the Third Anglo-Afghan War of 1919.

2)National war museum - It is a war memorial in New Delhi, Delhi, India, located at India Gate Circle. It has been built to honour and remember soldiers of the Indian Armed Forces who fought in armed conflicts of independent India.

3)National craft museum - The National Handicrafts and Handlooms Museum commonly known as National Crafts Museum in New Delhi is one of the largest crafts museums in India. It is run by the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. The museum is situated on the corner of the Pragati Maidan

4)Qutub complex - The Qutb Minar complex are monuments and buildings from the Delhi Sultanate at Mehrauli in Delhi, India. Construction of the Qutub Minar "victory tower" in the complex, named after the religious figure Sufi Saint Khwaja Qutbuddin Bakhtiar Kaki, was begun by Qutb-ud-din Aibak

5)Alliance Francaise de delhi -The Alliance Française has been offering French language courses, promoting French and French-speaking cultures and encouraging intercultural dialogue and exchanges throughout the world. It is the first French-language school and the first cultural NGO in the world.

6)Delhi haat - Dilli Haat has been designed in the traditional north Indian architectural style in brick latticework and stone roofs. The complex houses a large hall which conducts exhibitions and displays of handlooms and handicrafts.

Traveling is undoubtedly an inevitable part of learning architecture. Learning architecture is a process of rebirth of an individual’s perspectives and personalities. It brings us to ponder selflessly, independent of the personal inclinations, and to absorb the culture and experiences as it is, then to consider and apply it in our work.

Archumen quiz competition
(Western interface 22-23) Congratulations

Organised by saint gobain and under guidance of Ar. Geeta Balkrishna the founder of transparence.

India's Biggest Architecture Quiz for students of architecture. Moving on from a modest beginning at The Town Hall in Kolkata, Archumen travelled to Sri Lanka where an edition was held in Colombo .

Archumen is conducted as a four-zone quiz that culminates in a Grand National Finale.
In western interface more than 40 teams paritcipated from which top 6 were selected for final round.
