Our Story
Established in the year 2000, Tarijhum, in Search of Excellence in Performing Arts is a cultural organization formed by connoisseurs and lovers of dance and art. The objective of the institute has been to provide the young and talented a platform to showcase their ability, to exchange with the best and provide an environment that motivates and encourages them. Students of Tarijhum are carefully and rigorously nurtured, making sure they learn the right technique and are provided with multiple opportunities to perform that trains them further, making them accomplished stage artists.
The director of Tarijhum, Guru Smt. Stuti Sahu grew up in an artistic family were dance, drama and music were always an inherent part of her life. Her love and passion for this led to the foundation of "Tarijhum". Owing to her expertise in literature, music, drama and dance, in the years that followed, Tarijhum produced a number of dance ballets and Odissi choreographies, some of the recent ones being Pranay ballari, Shree Radha, Basudha Geeti and Upanishad. Several of these have been showcased on various stages including International Odissi festivals.
