A learning centre has been established for children who have moved from the Zilla Parishad Schools, into the private secondary school, and children from low income groups who are unable to attend school regularly. This centre is located within Khopara Gaon, Kharghar. This makes it easily accessible to the children. The focus in this group of children is empowerment and education. Children come to the centre before and after school hours, where the centre teacher gives academic support in Maths, Science and English. They are also given academic support if required in Marathi and other subjects. A group of 30 children from classes 4 -9, who have been chosen on the basis of their inherent desire to educate themselves, and the added advantage of supportive parents, have been selected for this programme. The aim of this centre is that children will be given additional educational support, in the form of tutoring, mentoring and where necessary sponsoring of their education. The aim is to provide these children with the ability to enter higher education with monetary and academic help from the trust.
