Peninsula Tennis Academy recently opened a new center at Rao Tula Ram College, 560 Rao Tula Ram Marg, West End Colony, New Delhi - 110021. This new Peninsula center with 6 world class clay tennis courts and one mini court is located in lush green surroundings in a picture perfect ambience in an upscale neighbourhood of New Delhi.

Due to poor air quality and adverse weather conditions in the NCR, it has been decided to postpone the Peninsula Tennis Championships by a week. The Championships will now be held from 23 to 30 Nov 2019.

After intensive All India selection trials, 3 trainees from Peninsula have been chosen as "Ball Kids" for the ongoing Australian Open being played at Melbourne. They will rub shoulders with the top tennis players in the world. The 3 lucky trainees are:

All the expenses are being met by Kia Motors wbo are a major sponsor of the Australian Open, the first leg of the 4 Grand Slams of tennis.

Entry to the next in the series of the Peninsula Tennis Championships closes on 16 Dec 2018. The championship begins on 18 Dec at the IIT. Please immediately contact your Peninsula coach for playing in the tournament.

Peninsula is happy to partner Innocean Worldwide Communications Pvt Ltd in the Kia Motors sponsored Australian Open Ballkids International Program to select and send 10 kids from India in the age group of 12 to 15 years as Ballkids to the Australian Open in Jan 2019. All expenses would be paid for by Kia Motors and the selected Ballkids would have a great opportunity to meet and interact with the superstars of world tennis in the first Grand Slam of the year. This all India selection is being held for the first time in the country.

All Peninsula trainees can register with their head coaches immediately in their respective centres.

The next Peninsula Tennis Tournament is scheduled at the DDA Dwarka Sports Complex from 24 to 30 Nov 2018. Entries can now be submitted at all Peninsula centers. Entries close on 22 Nov 2018 for all age groups from 6 years to 16 years.

In view of the heavy pollution in Delhi and in response to the numerous requests, the Peninsula Tennis Championships at the Delhi Gymkhana Club Ltd have been rescheduled. The Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) schedule for workshops in India has now been finalised with the International head office in the USA.The workshops are being organised by the Peninsula Tennis Academy all over India. The workshops will be conducted by Dr Ludovit Cap from Hilton Head, USA. Dr Cap who was recently inducted into the PTR Hall of Fame is an old friend of India.

The current schedule is given below:

DATES – New Delhi EVENTS

8 – 11 Jan 2018 Adult Development Workshop – PTR Certification only for new applicants.
PTR India Award’s – Recognition to members who have “Made a World of Difference” & presentation of Awards.
Testing / Re- testing –Testing for new members and re- testing for current members.

Junior Development Workshop – A special certification workshop for coaches to correctly teach children of ages 10 & under - this novel workshop which has met great success internationally emphasizes the importance of creating a coaching environment in which children can play and learn quickly. The course is divided into two parts: 4 hours recommended preparation from the Study Guide,followed by an 8 hour on court workshop. The workshop prepares participants for the three part certification exam – Skills,Teaching and Written - at the conclusion of the workshop.

Junior Coach Workshop - Workshop meant for markers/assistants - graded “Junior Coach”.

Tennis Fitness Speciality Workshop - A speciality workshop recently introduced in India especially being held in view of the importance of fitness in contemporary tennis today - Fitness Testing - Warm-Up – Dynamic Stretching and Flexibility-Successful Start – Speed and Quickness - Movement on the Court – Agility and Footwork -Training for Power and Endurance - Cool Down – Static Stretching - Designing a Programme.

19 – 21 Jan 2018: Performance Workshop The Performance Certification Workshop being held in India for the first time is for coaches who currently work with or aspire to work with young players of potential. The workshop teaches coaches how to develop a performance environment, together with communication and organization skills necessary to teach performance plus competitive development. Planning development programs and working with other professionals along with parents are important elements of the workshop. There will be 3 tests: on court teaching, written and skills test.

In view of the rains and subsequent requests by trainees for postponement, it has been decided to delay the Neca - Peninsula Tennis Tournament by a week.It will now begin from Saturday 1 July 2017.

The Peninsula Tennis Championships have as usual received a great response from our aspiring young champions with hundred's of entries being received and more requests to join pouring in even after the deadline. As such the tournament committee has decided to begin the championships one day earlier and today the Boys U-16 event commences at the IIT courts at 3.00 pm.
