Parents are not just observers of the therapy sessions but are an essential part of it.
This is because parents have many more opportunities of interacting with their child in a meaningful everyday environment than a therapist and they know their child best and are her/his first teacher.

Expressions believes parents to play an integral part in their child’s intervention and development.
Our plans are designed to help parents learn how to promote their young child’s communication at home.
This is known as “parent-implemented intervention”.

So happy to share a very small yet important success story where this cute little friend of mine meets me just once a week but I was so happy to see the huge difference between Week 1 and Week 2 and all because of parent-implemented intervention.

A good demo of activities, motivating parents, make yourself available to guide every time they need is just what makes this possible.

BROWN BEAR, BROWN BEAR, WHAT DO YOU SEE?

I have been using this beautiful book since last few years with kids to enhance their language and social skills.

This book is a one stop therapy resource to work on various goals, to list some:

- Vocabulary Development: Identification and naming of common animals.

- Colour Identification and Naming

-Joining words to form phrases and sentences.

- To improve questioning skills.

-Fine motor skills- turning over the pages.

- The best part is that lines are written rhythmically which can be easily sung to kids to get their attention and also to elicit the target words.
