Did you know a pinch of salt goes a long way when it comes to desserts?

I love what salt brings out in a dessert, besides balancing the sweetness. We use salt in certain recipes because it works as a palate cleanser to let your taste buds prepare for the next bite. It also contrasts so well with chocolate- the darker the better I say. In terms of which salt- if you are using it for the texture, where the course groats of salt tingle on your tongue then Sea Salt works best. On our menu we showcase the wonders of sea salt with our top selling favourite sea salt Nutella, dark chocolate and sea salt cookie cause it balances the sweetness of nutella and brings out the richness of dark chocolate so well.
The other bake you ought to try is our slow proofed focaccia, while a good focaccia can be made great with just some chunks of sea salt on it- no other filling or topping needed, you can try our pesto tomato focaccia with sea salt on it to taste for yourself. We make our focaccia vegan btw!

I’ve always been inspired by the world of unique flavors and over time, we’ve brought this curiosity to your tables via every dessert at Whisk A Wish.

But this time, I want to make you experience this world in person with a very interesting workshop that I’m doing at on Sunday, the 8th of October about “All Things Japanese” where I’ll be teaching you 3 desserts inspired by Pop Culture and Japanese Flavors.

Hello there! My name is Tanya and I am the founder of Whisk A Wish. Today is an exceptionally fun day for us cause it’s Raakhi tomorrow and our kitchen is going crazy and the team loves the buzz. Raakhi is so special for everyone in the industry because it marks the beginning of the festive season which is a 6-7 month long period of a lot of trials and orders after 3 full months of summers and low order volume. The buzz is easy to get addicted to cause there is so much pastry to produce which is what we are here for. When I started this page as a one woman army I would have never guessed that I’ll be sitting here today coordinating orders while a team of trusted and passionate bakers put 100’a of hampers and boxes together. Tomorrow is also the first time we are open on the day of Raakhi and we are all very nervous about how it will go! This is not just a sneak peak into what you can expect from our Fathers Day 2023 Menu but a testament of my impatience. Read on to know what and why!?
So, when we started discussing our Father’s Day menu we came to the consensus of putting a 100% whole wheat cookie on the menu. Since we are known for adapting indulgent recipes into healthy ones, we get a tonne of calls for Mothers Day and Fathers Day asking for healthy desserts and we love experimenting and coming up with healthier bakes for everyone. So in all our cookie trials this 100% whole wheat cake rusk stood out. I mean who doesn’t have memories of shamelessly dunking buttered rusk in a tea cup, even if the tea wasn’t meant for you? Guilty as charged, I still do that with my moms tea every now and then. Long story short, the team and all the customers who received a sample of the rusk in the last 2 weeks, loved it so much that we decided not to wait for Fathers Day and launch it right away. You can order these on our website and get it delivered anywhere across Delhi NCR. It is perfectly crunchy, mildly sweetened and a super simple easy swap to the store bought over sweetened, bad fat, suji and maida rusks that too many Indian parents indulge in everyday.

Can you believe that this- all of it is 100% whole wheat and made only from basic pantry staples. No fancy ingredients, no stand mixer, no improvers or added gluten, no additives or chemicals. And you can learn to bake all of this in my new 100% whole wheat breads class. DM to know more.

Venturing into customised cakes like 🎈 We don’t usually take up requests for customised cakes for a bunch of reasons:
1. Most of the designs are in fondant and fondant is a big NO for me. Never used it, will hopefully never have to use it. And I also don’t have the skill set to use it artistically. I mean if I try to draw a tree it looks like a donkey.
2. Customised cakes are very time consuming, not just making it, but planning it and ironing out its details with the customers.
But, if you give us enough notice, we are now open to making customised cakes- not fondant, only buttercream based.
