Empowered Children’s Day!

Here are some suggestions for Preventing Child S*xual Abuse:

1. Educate children about the names of their body parts early on, empowering them to communicate if they feel uneasy around someone.
2. Teach children to distinguish between safe and unsafe touches.
3. Stress that certain parts of their body are private and should not be touched by others.
4. Foster an open environment where children feel comfortable discussing their emotions and experiences.
5. Help children identify trusted adults they can turn to if they feel unsafe or encounter confusing situations.
6. Encourage children to assert their boundaries and say "no" if someone is invading their personal space or making them uncomfortable, even if it's an adult.

We conduct age-appropriate workshops covering topics such as Body Awareness, Puberty, Menstruation, and S*x Education for children.

Parwarish Cares Foundation shone a spotlight on Child S*xual Abuse Prevention through an interactive workshop with the children of Sushant Lok Government School. We brought awareness on body safety by giving children the tools to assert boundaries, say 'no,' and protect themselves against potential abuse.

The social stigma and embarassment associated with puberty is a major challenge that hampers effective communication between teachers and children. With the aim of breaking this social stigma, Parwarish Cares Foundation conducted S*x Education workshops for 30 teachers of Sakshi, a not for profit to help them enable children to develop into confident individuals who are well-prepared to face the challenges of adulthood. The sessions equipped them to communicate openly with the students to voice their concerns, seek guidance, and develop a sense of agency over their own bodies.

The PoSH act is a mandatory compliance for all offices with 10 or more employees. Under the law every Employer has to provide a safe working environment at the workplace, all employees have to be trained, and have an internal complaints committee to address harassment complaints.

Road map to a safe society is through knowledge of what challenges it.
Parwarish Cares is gratified to partner AkzoNobel to empower its CSR projects across the country on child s*xual abuse.
Project managers and team members from 5 locations came together in Delhi for an intensive 5 day long, Train the Trainers program on Aao Baat Karein.

This flagship program is aimed at equipping trainers to train children on protecting and dealing with s*xiual abuse.
AkzoNobel's path breaking initiative takes us a step closer to eradication of child s*xual abuse.

On 30th April 2022, we set up the first internal safety committee for OM Foundation in Noida.

The safety committee will be

1. Child S*xual Abuse Sensitized
2. POCSO Trained
3. PoSH Trained
4. Responsible for driving safety throughout the calendar year for the school

till safety becomes a part of the educational institution’s DNA.

This committee’s duties will also include informing and educating employees about safety issues, setting achievable safety goals for the school, and fostering a safety culture among the workforce.
