The International Juice Conference is poised to be a transformative event, bringing together global leaders, experts, and enthusiasts in the juice and beverage industry under one roof. With a focus on fostering innovation, collaboration, and sustainability, this conference aims to chart the course for the future of the beverage sector in India and beyond.

The National Seminar on "Deep Dive into Almonds," held on April 16th, 2024, at the India International Centre in New Delhi, organized by AIFPA in collaboration with the Almond Board of California, was a significant event highlighting the importance and potential of almonds. Dr Jitendra Dongare Deputy Assistant Managing Director of the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MOFPI Government of India) Government of India, emphasized the value of almonds and their potential for value addition during the inauguration.

Dr Raghav jadli, the President of AIFPA, set the context for the seminar, outlining its objectives and themes. Following this, Mr. Sudarshan Mazumdar, Director for India, South Korea, and Japan at the Almonds Board of California (ABC), provided an informative introduction to the organization. He focused on the formation, function, and scope of the Almonds Board of California, shedding light on its pivotal role in advancing the almond industry.

The Technical Session at the National Seminar on "Deep Dive into Almonds" was a focal point for discussions on nutrition, Ayurveda, technical knowledge about almonds and almond products, and the latest trends in the industry. Esteemed speakers such as Ms. Elena Hemler, MPH ( Nutrition Research Program Lead at the Almonds Board of California ABC), Mr. Guangwei Huang (Associate Director of Food Research and Technology at ABC) and Ms. Emily Fleischmann, (Vice President of Global Market Development at ABC), shared valuable insights during the session.

Ms. Julie Adams, Vice President of Global Technical & Regulatory Affairs at ABC, skillfully moderated the session, ensuring a smooth flow of discussions. Delegates actively participated by posing questions on various topics, including the utilization of almond shells, the impact of soaking on almond digestibility, the neurological properties of almonds, and innovative almond-based products worldwide.

The seminar served as an excellent platform for knowledge exchange between speakers and delegates. It provided comprehensive details on the scope, health benefits, value additions, and market trends of almonds globally.

AIFPA organized its 79th Annual Conference & National Seminar on "Mission 2030: India A Global Leader For Value Added Food" on 11th March 2024 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi during India's leading Food Exhibition, AAHAR-2024.

The event was facilitated by the MOFPI Government of India and supported by The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), Food Safety and Standards Authority of India, Invest India, and India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO). The event was inaugurated by Sh. G. K. V Rao, CEO, FSSAI emphasizes the importance of value addition. President, AIFPA Dr Raghav jadli set the context of the Seminar. An award ceremony was held to recognize outstanding individuals in the food industry for their contributions & commitment to excellence. The Food Safety Awards were also launched, recognizing food processors for their exceptional performance in ensuring food safety.

The 1st session was focused on financial planning and institutional support, chaired by FT Prabodh S. Halde ( PhD), West Zone Chairman, AIFPA & Head Regulatory Affairs, Marico Limited. Speakers included in the session were Sh. V K Vidyarthi (GM, APEDA), Dr Jitendra Dongare. (Dy. AMA, MOFPI Government of India), Sh. Gaurav Sishodia (VP, Invest India), and Sh. Rakesh Khurana (Chief Manager, National Stock Exchange). The session provided valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities in the processed food industry.

Sh. Abhishek Dev, Chairman of The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), highlighted the initiatives to boost exports & promote the food sector. He appreciated AIFPA's efforts in encouraging young food technologists through award distribution, highlighting their potential in the future of the food industry.

The 2nd session aimed to strengthen the regulatory framework; opportunities for exploring new food categories such as pet foods; and innovation & patented technology transfer support from research institutions and chaired by Sh. Kajal Debnath, North Zone Chairman, AIFPA & CRO, DFM Foods Limited. Session comprised of learned speakers such as Sh. Akhilesh Gupta (Assistant Director, Food Safety and Standards Authority of India), Dr. Vinkel Kumar Arora (Astt. Professor, NIFTEM), Sh. Govind Suryawanshi (Director - Corporate Affairs, Royal Canin India Pvt. Ltd.), and Sh. Gobind Ram Choudhary (MD, ANMOL INDUSTRIES LIMITED).

AIFPA's commitment to the growth and development of the industry was evident throughout the event, making this National Seminar a big success.
