On view: 'Jeram Patel: A Reconstruct' untill February, 17 at Palette Art Gallery from 11am - 7pm (Mon-Sat).
Jeram Patel's Chinese ink abstracts diverge from his figurative drawings' primeval energy. Initially seeming repetitive, they prompt questions about the observer's precise perception. Some unveil colors behind dense black globules, a contrast to works like Jeram 8, where black entirely absorbs colors. This tension creates a unique sense of fullness and emptiness in the images. The opaque, mysterious drawings allure with a phenomenological quality, akin to the blowtorch works, and convey a quivering, shivering eroticism.
