I completed 94 years of my active and rewarding life on 13th April 2024.

'My aim of equitable service prospects for all Officers in the SOI department was achieved when the First Ever Cadre Review Committee's Recommendations with Mandatory amendment to Rules, were implemented in 1989. I had been toiling for the same since early Nineteen Seventies. I am still working hard to ensure that the Order for Parity of Pensions from 1.1.96 are duly implemented in the department. Those officers(Directors and Dy. Directors of Erstwhile Circle and equivalent) who suffered under poor service prospects for no fault of theirs until 1989, have yet to receive their legitimate dues as pensioners.

The Birthday Party on 14th April,2024 was attended among others by my good friends and former colleagues, Generals SK Mehta and Prithvi Raj, who appreciated my efforts which resulted in appropriate Ranks and Pay scales for the posts in SOI.
I am convinced that Selfless efforts for a Right cause invariably succeed, in the end.

I was moved by Shri R.K. Nim's remarks to pen this down for information of all pensioners (and their families and heirs) of the Survey of India, especially those who retired from the Erstwhile Posts of Director and Dy. Director(Circle or equivalent), before 1989 when the First Ever Cadre Review Committee's Recommendations were implemented.

The greatest eternal happiness to me in my life is that I could get the SOI Rules changed to make them equitable both to Civilian and the Seconded Army Officers, through the First Ever Cadre Review Recommendations, implemented in 1989, which brought the long awaited much-needed improvement in the Service Prospects for Group 'A' Officers in the department.
I am still trying hard that the DoP&PW OM of 17.12.1998 on Parity of Pensions be fully implemented to give the due benefits(to all those concerned) to the pre- 96 retirees from the Erstwhile Posts of Directors and Deputy Directors (CIRCLE and Equivalent).They have not yet been paid their legitimate dues from 1.1.96.
The Erstwhile Director was equivalent to the post of Chief Engineer and the Erstwhile Deputy DIirector was equivalent to S.E., CPWD. The SE, CPWD(and the equivalent post of Dy. Director, Circle and equivalent, Survey of India) was upgraded to the scale of Rs.14300 to 18300 from 1.1.96.
