I'm going to share few things which I know - what to do after BDS?

1. Clinic - if you're good at hand work . Start your own clinic. You can do certificate courses for the things which you don't know.
2. MDS - If you have money/can go through govt quota , go for it. This degree is helpful for those who want to be a professor/consultant or if you want to move to gulf countries .
Apart from MDS and clinic what can we do?
To be honest, there are many options. I will list down a few.
1. MBA/MHA - a very good vourse to understand the business . It is useful if you have your own clinic as well.
After MBA, we can work in the following roles :
*Hospital Administrator
*Patient care coordinator
* Quality Analyst in hospitals
*Business analyst in IT company
2. M.Sc in Anatomy/Physiology/Biochem - we can go into research area or be a professor in medical colleges .
M.Sc in Embryology - few of my batchmates did this course. And they work in fertility clinics
3. Masters in Public Health - if you want to move abroad, scope is very high.
4. Job in gulf countries- Yes, the salary is pretty good but can we get a job there is the question. There are many dentists who have cleared the exams years back and still couldn't find job .
5. Cosmetologist - currently this is the trend.
We have to do few certificate courses and you can do procedures like botox, fillers, skin lightening, etc.
But it would be better if someone has MDS with OMFS to pursue this.
6. Jobs in Insurance companies - Many insurance companies are looking for employees with medical background to analyse the claims . Salary is good as well .
7. Pharamocovigilance
8. Civil services

I had spent months researching on what to do next, this is what I came up with.
I have seen comments and posts where people ask to continue dentistry and working hard will bring success. True, working hard will make you successful that doesnt mean we should ignore all the other opportunities , one got to work smart as well.
This is my opinion, please dont come back at me if you disagree with it.

I hope this post helps those who are struggling to make a way .
