'Attar', 'ittar', 'इत्र', 'تعجب ' or 'itra' believed to have been derived from the Persian word itir, meaning 'perfume'.
Fragrances or perfumes have been developed since ages. Egypt being one of the pioneers in this industry, 'Ittar' has been developed by Al-Shaykh al-Rais, a great Muslim physician who made a distinctive type of aromatic product. He was a pioneer to come with the technique of distillation of roses and other plant fragrances.

Ittar has always been an essential part of the Royals since ages. It was believed that 'Ittars' would attract angels and ward off the evils. From the rooms to the body and the long lustrous hair of the females, fragrances were incorporated in all possible special ways.
