Our Story

The Goals of this Organization are to:

1. Mobilize: To promote United Nations’ policies, activities and people’s compliance with their international commitments

2. Educate: To provide timely information about the United Nations to students, faculty and staff of Lovely Professional University in order to inform of the happenings of the United Nations;

3. Build Community: To encourage organizations to network among themselves

4. Engage: To participate in United Nations activities.


The objectives of this Organization are:

a) To be a people’s movement for the United Nations in Lovely Professional University.

b) To cooperate, where appropriate with other organizations whose objects include the support of the United Nations and its development.

c) To promote tolerance, understanding, solidarity and cooperation among men, women and children throughout the world without distinction as to race, s*x, language, religion or political orientation.

d) To contribute to the removal of obstacles to peace, to work for justice, security and disarmament, and to promote the development of peaceful co-existence and cooperation among people.

e) To strive for the recognition of and respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms throughout the world and for the recognition of the responsibilities and duties which those rights involve for individuals, groups and States.

f) To promote research, information and education about the goals of the Charter of the United Nations and the work of the United Nations system.

UNYC operates exclusively for educational, charitable and social purposes, and is therefore a Non-Profit Organization
