Ayurvedic Diet for Healthy Weight: Obese vs. Lean 💪🏻
According to Ayurveda, obesity (Sthaulya) and excessive leanness (Karshya) can be imbalances. Here is how to find your Ayurvedic balance through diet:
🌿 Understanding the Doshas:
Our body is composed of three main energetic forces (Doshas)
* Vata (air & space), Pitta (fire & water), and Kapha (earth & water).
* Obesity is linked to excess Kapha (heavy, slow) and Medas (fat tissue) while leanness is related to imbalanced Vata (light, airy).
गुरु चापतर्पणं चेष्टं स्थूलानां कर्शनं प्रति ।
कृशानां बृंहणार्थं च लघु संतर्पणं च यत् ।।
This Sanskrit verse from Charaka Samhita explains that to reduce weight and bulkiness in obese individuals, treatments that are light and satisfying are recommended, while for underweight individuals, therapies that are nourishing and substantial are advised. 🌱
🥗 Diet for Obese Individuals:
Focus on light, dry, and warm foods to promote digestion and reduce fat accumulation, like:
1. Mung beans (green gram)
2. Barley
3. Leafy greens
4. Spices like ginger (shunthi) and black pepper (vidanga)
5. Honey (in moderation)
Strong digestion is key for managing weight. Herbs like Guduchi, Daruharidra, and Triphala can help stimulate Agni.
🥗 Diet for Lean Individuals:
Vata is associated with dryness and lightness. Consume heavy, moist, and cooling foods to build tissues and support a healthy weight. Examples include:
1. Ghee (clarified butter)
2. Milk & milk products
3. Meat soups (especially domestic animals)
4. Sweet and nourishing grains like rice & wheat
Ojas is our vital essence. Include healthy fats, sweet foods, and aphrodisiac herbs to nourish Ojas and promote overall well-being.
📍Remember
Listen to your body: Eat until comfortably full, not stuffed. Respect hunger cues. Maintain consistent meal timings for healthy digestion.
📝 Note: Always consult an Ayurvedic doctor for personalized guidance on diet and lifestyle practices to achieve your Ayurvedic balance.
Improve AMH (Anti-Mullerian Hormone) with Ayurveda 🌿
🔍 What is AMH? (Anti-Mullerian Hormone)
It helps to assess a woman's egg reserve and future fertility potential. Low AMH suggests fewer eggs.
💡 Why AMH level is important?
AMH can predict a woman's reproductive life span. It also predicts the time of menopause in younger females
❓ What is Low AMH?
- Normal range of AMH 1.0 – 4.0 ng/ml
Levels below 1.0 ng/ml indicate diminished ovarian reserve.
Factors responsible for the low AMH Levels
Age, genetics, stress, medical illnesses, Unhealthy food habits, Faulty lifestyle.
😞 How does Low-level AMH affect Women?
It can lead to fewer eggs, hormone imbalance, and difficulty in conceiving naturally.
💊 Offerings of Ayurveda to Low AMH patients
Ayurveda's action towards low AMH Patients is mainly to improve the quality & quantity of o**m. It does not focus mainly on hormones but the goal is to achieve a healthy reproduction and endocrine system. Ayurvedic care encompasses 3 Aspects for low AMH Patients:
1️⃣ Shaman Chikitsa -
Includes Internal Medications to balance doshas, improve metabolism, and maintain hormonal balance.
2️⃣ Shodhan Chikitsa –
Includes taking the metabolic toxins out of the body using Panchakarma therapies like Vaman, virechan, Basti, Uttarbasti, etc
Uttarbasti treatment also plays an important role in achieving good egg quality and preparing the uterine bed for conception.
3️⃣ Rasayan T/T - Rejuvenating medicines (Rasayan drugs) should be administered to the patient after Panchakarma treatment to improve the quality and quantity of eggs.
🎯 Ayurvedic Treatment aims to enhance AMH levels which ultimately increases the chances of Pregnancy naturally or with Artificial embryo implantation.

Meal/Food & Water Harmony in Ayurveda (आहार - जलपान) 🌿
Ayurveda emphasizes the beautiful connection between food (Aahar) and water (Jalapaan) for optimal health.
1️⃣ Water as Medicine
अजीर्णे भैषज्यं वारि जीर्णे वारि बलप्रदम् ।
भोजने च अमृतं वारि भोजनान्ते विषप्रदम् ।।
This shlok explains that water acts as medicine for indigestion, and provides energy when it is consumed after digestion. Water acts like nectar when it is consumed in small quantities during meals, but is like poison if consumed right after taking meals.
Water intake timing matters! ⏱️
2️⃣ Water & meals
If water is consumed before meals, it leads to weak digestive power and emaciation. After meals, it aggravates kapha, leading to sluggishness and weight gain. Sipping water in small quantities throughout during meals helps in digestion which ultimately results in building immunity and balance.
3️⃣ Impact of water intake time during meals on the body:
समस्थुलकृशा भक्त मध्यान्त प्रथम अम्बुपाः ।
• Before Meals: May lead to weight loss (Krisha).
• Middle of Meals: Maintains balance (Samasthiti).
• End of Meals: May lead to obesity (Sthoulya).
4️⃣ Water & Digestion:
अत्यम्बुपानाच्च विपच्यते अन्नम् अनम्बुपानाच्च स एव दोषः ।
तस्मात् नरो वन्हिविवर्धाय मुहुः मुहुः वारि पिबेदभुरि ।।
If water is taken in large quantities or if not consumed at all during meals, the food is not going to processed or digested. Sipping water in small quantity during meals frequently keeps digestive fire burning optimally.
emphasizes the importance of mindful water intake for optimal and overall . 🌿
🚫 Remember: Don't overindulge or completely avoid water during meals. Take moderate sips throughout for optimal digestion and overall health.
📝 Tip: Avoid eating when thirsty or drinking when hungry to prevent digestive discomfort.
📌 NOTE: Consult your nearest doctor for personalized guidance on water intake based on your needs.

Dysmenorrhea, commonly known as painful periods, causes cramping in the lower abdomen. This pain can sometimes spread to the upper abdomen, waist, and thighs. Additionally, some individuals may experience nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headaches, and dizziness alongside the cramping.
In Ayurveda dysmenorrhoea can be correlated to Kashtartava i.e. "Difficult menstrual flow”. This evocative expression highlights the struggle and discomfort associated with experience.
🍃कष्टेन मुच्यति इति कष्टार्तव. 🍃
Acharya Charaka has mentioned that none of the gynecological disorders that can arise without the affliction of aggravated “vata”. “Vata” is the main responsible factor, though other Doshas can be present as “Anubandhi” to it.
During the management of "Dysmenorrhoea", first of all, vitiated "Vata" should be normalized by using panchakarma techniques and medicines. For balancing vata dosha, panchakarma techniques like, “Abhyanga, Swedana, Basti, Yogabasti, kalbasti, etc. should be done.
Vaman and Virechan should be planned according to other doshas involved in the pathology.
After purification, specific ayurvedic medicines like Chandraprabha, Dashamularishta, etc. are administered according to pathology and body type.
Yogasanas like " Ushtrasana" and "Bhadrasana" may help to improve women's health and reduce menstrual pain.
🥘 Consuming Food according to the doshas involved in the pathology is a must in treating dysmenorrhoea patients.

Discover the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda with Virechana Therapy! 🌿
Ever heard of Virechana, the Panchakarma therapy from Ayurveda? It's like a detox for your body, especially for those fiery Pitta doshas.
Virechan, also known as medical purgation therapy, is one of the five Panchakarma procedures specified for Pitta dosha. It mainly cleanses Pitta and purifies blood toxins from the body. It's the procedure that expels doshas through Adhomarga, i.e., A**s (Guda).
"तत्र दोशहरणमूर्ध्वभागं वमनं संज्ञकम्, अधोभागं विरेचनं संज्ञकम्।। च0क0 1/4
विरेचनं पित्तहराणां। च० सू० 25"
Benefits:
After Virechana therapy, a person experiences purity in channels of circulation, clarity in sense organs, lightness in the body, increased energy, promotion of digestion and metabolism, freedom from diseases, and expulsion of f***s, etc.
"स्रोतोविशुद्धीन्द्रियसंप्रसादौलघुत्वमूर्जोऽग्निरनामयत्वम्।
प्राप्तिश्चविपित्तकफानिलानांसम्यग्विरिक्तस्य भवेत् क्रमेण। चसिo 1/17"
Sharad Ritu is a time of Pitta Prakopa. The Pitta which is accumulated in Varsha Ritu i.e. Rainy season gets provoked by Ushna guna of season. This results in Pitta prakopa and person lands up in Pittaja Vikara. Diseases related to blood to occur in Sharad Ritu. Virechan is the purification measure administered in Sharad Ritu for preventing and controlling Pitta Vikaras and Rakta Vikaras.
Virechana Karma isn't just a cleanse; it's a rejuvenating experience for your body and mind. It offers a holistic approach to wellness, targeting not only physical but also mental and emotional well-being. Its gentle yet potent mechanism, combined with personalized care for the body.

Vamana Karma ((THERAPEUTIC EMESIS))🌿
Vamana Karma, a therapeutic procedure in Ayurveda, involves inducing controlled vomiting to expel vitiated doshas, particularly Kapha and Pitta through the oral route.
The main place of Kapha dosha in the body according to Ayurveda is the upper body i.e. Urdhwabhag and Amashaya i.e. upper stomach. It is a general principle to expel vitiated doshas from the nearest route and the oral route is the nearest route for expelling kapha dosha in the form of "Vamana".
The Vamak drugs i.e. the drugs used to carry out Vaman Karma are not deposited in the cells therefore not causing any harm. The Vamak drugs go to minute channels and exert their effect on the site of action without causing any harm.
Vamak drugs are quite irritant to the stomach lining causing inflammation, due to which permeability of the stomach lining changes
and those substances came out due to changed permeability which can not come out in normal conditions.
Timing of Vaman Karma
Normally kapha dosha in the body gets aggrevated in Vasant Rutu i.e in the Spring season. Hence Vaman is indicated in the Spring season i.e. in March /April month.
But if the patient shows Aggrevated kapha dosha and Pitta dosha symptoms in other seasons then vaman can be carried out in that season also to balance kapha and Pitta.
Benefits of Vaman Karma
This procedure offers numerous benefits, including detoxification, and alleviation of Kapha and Pitta-related disorders like asthma, cough, skin diseases, and diabetes, along with improving digestive functions and enhancing overall well-being.
Vamana Karma, though intricate, holds significant therapeutic value in managing various health conditions by purifying the body and restoring balance. Understanding its mechanism and timing is crucial for its successful implementation in clinical practice, offering patients a natural and effective way to regain health.

Revitalizing an Ancient Remedy: Unveiling the Power of Leech Therapy
From the depths of time, Ayurveda's "Jaloukavacharan" - leech therapy - resurfaces, offering a unique approach to managing various ailments. This ancient practice, rooted in the principles of "Raktamokshana" (bloodletting), has captivated modern medicine with its potential to combat pain and inflammation, and even promote tissue healing.
Beyond Pain Relief: While leech therapy excels at offering pain relief for conditions like arthritis and varicose veins, its magic lies deeper. The key lies in their biochemical arsenal hidden within their saliva. Imagine a cocktail of anticoagulants, vasodilators, and anti-inflammatory compounds working in harmony to improve blood flow, prevent clotting, and reduce inflammation. This targeted approach not only alleviates pain but also fosters tissue repair and healing.
Gentle Bites, Powerful Effects: Unlike the image of gruesome bloodletting, leech bites are surprisingly painless, thanks to numbing agents in their saliva. While temporary itchiness and swelling might occur, the therapeutic benefits soon unfold, bringing relief and improved function.
Beyond Conventional Treatments: Compared to invasive surgeries and expensive medications, leech therapy offers a gentle, cost-effective alternative, particularly for individuals who cannot undergo surgery. This less invasive approach holds immense potential for managing various conditions, making it a valuable addition to the therapeutic toolbox.
Remember: While promising, leech therapy should always be conducted under the watchful eye of a qualified healthcare professional. This ensures safety and maximizes the potential benefits of this ancient wisdom.
Bonus: Studies reveal significant pain reduction and improved joint function in people with osteoarthritis after leech therapy! So, unlock the power of this ancient remedy and experience its potential benefits for yourself.

The Ayurvedic Keys to Conception ✨
In Ayurveda, the ancient Indian science of life, conception is viewed as a sacred union of four elements: Ritu, Kshetra, Ambu, and Beeja.
Let's explore these "seeds" for a healthy Garbha (conception):
1. Ritu (Cycle): According to ayurveda, it is of 12 days starting from the stoppage of menstruation. According to modern science ovulation may occurs on 14 day after menstruation starts. During proliferative stage of menstrual cycle near to ovulation cervical mucus permits pe*******on of s***m . So the most fertile period is 10 to 18 days after the onset of menstruation. Track your menstrual cycle to identify the fertile window, often between the 10th and 20th day. This aligns with Kapha Dosha, known for its nurturing energies.
2. Kshetra (Field): Conception Of "Garbha" depends on healthy or disease free uterus i.e. "Khetra". The power of implantation is lost, if any impairment occurs in uyerus. Therefore the Kshetra, or uterus, should be well-prepared like fertile soil. A balanced diet rich in Ojas-building foods (milk, ghee, ) , regular exercise and Yoga will prepare uterus for conception.
3. Ambu (Nourishment): The term "Ambu" represents "Rasa Dhatu" which is formed after complete digestion of Food. The main function of "Rasa dhatu" is "Preenana" means nourishment. Imagine the nourishing waters that sustain life. If the "Garbha" does not get proper nourishment that will land into Miscarriage. Both partners should consume "Daily food regimes" told by ayurveda to strengthen Shukra (s***m) and Artava (o**m).
4. Beeja (Seed): The term "Beeja" represents "Shuddha Shukra "(Sperm/Semen) and "Shuddha Artava" (O**m) as strong and healthy seeds are crucial for a bountiful harvest. Practices like "Panchakarma" and ayurvedic medicines will help in producing " Shuddha Shukra" and "Shuddha artava".
Remember, a holistic approach is key. Manage stress, prioritize sleep, and cultivate loving connection with your partner. By nurturing these elements, you create fertile ground for Garbha Dhan, the gift of conception.
Trying to conceive but facing challenges? You're not alone. affects millions worldwide, and while modern medicine offers solutions, many also seek solace in ancient wisdom like Ayurveda.
Understanding the Root Cause:
Ayurveda views the body as a delicate balance of three energies (doshas): Vata (air), Pitta (fire), and Kapha (earth/water). Imbalances in these doshas can manifest as various health issues, including infertility. An Ayurvedic practitioner will assess your unique dosha composition and identify potential imbalances contributing to your struggle.
Addressing the Imbalances:
1. Dietary Tweaks: Ayurveda emphasizes whole, nourishing foods specific to your . Leafy greens and legumes support Vata, cooling vegetables and spices balance Pitta, and warming grains and nuts nurture Kapha. Limiting processed foods, sugar, and excessive caffeine is crucial.
2. Herbal Remedies: Herbs like Shatavari, Ashwagandha, and Vidarikand are renowned for their fertility-supporting properties. However, always consult a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner for personalized recommendations, as some herbs may interact with medications or have specific contraindications.
3. Lifestyle Practices: Stress is a major dosha disrupter. Yoga, meditation, and pranayama (breathing exercises) promote relaxation and balance the mind-body connection. Regular sleep, gentle exercise, and avoiding excessive strain are also key.
4. Panchakarma: This detoxification process aims to cleanse the body of accumulated toxins that can impede . It involves herbal therapies, massages, and dietary modifications, but should only be undertaken under professional guidance.
Remember: is a holistic approach, and its effectiveness can vary depending on individual factors. It's crucial to consult a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner alongside seeking any necessary medical advice. Combining traditional wisdom with modern medicine can provide a comprehensive support system on your journey towards parenthood.
