The art and the artists of our maker space.

Our young makers are involved in to composting (right from shredding dry leaves to preparing the bacterial culture for composting) to preparation of soil, to planting, to painting the planters and to making low-cost dripping system using waste bottles...

They are not only involved in making DIY projects but also involved in maintaining our community maker space.

Vigyan Ashram is conducting a couple of DIY hands-on workshops in the maker faire in collaboration with state governments and UNICEF on 16th and 17th December 2023 organized at T-works in Hyderabad.

विज्ञान आश्रमाचे संचालक डॉ. योगेश कुलकर्णी यांनी लिहिलेले आणि समकालीन प्रकाशन यांनी प्रकाशित केलेले 'कहाणी - पाबळच्या विज्ञान आश्रमाची ' या पुस्तकाचा प्रकाशन सोहळा रविवार दि. ८ ऑक्टोबर रोजी पुणे येथे पार पडला. यावेळी कार्यक्रमाचे प्रमुख पाहुणे म्हणून ज्येष्ठ संशोधक श्री.अरविंद गुप्ता उपस्थित होते.

पुस्तक प्रकाशनाचा मुख्य सोहळा सुरू होण्याच्या आधी अरविंद गुप्ता सरांनी विज्ञान आश्रमाच्या पुण्यातील DIY (Do It Yourself) लॅबला भेट दिली व विद्यार्थ्यांनी लॅबमध्ये केलेले वेगवेगळे प्रकल्प पाहिले. या भेटी दरम्यान त्यांनी लॅबच्या विद्यार्थ्यांबरोबर संवाद साधला तसेच त्यांना मार्गदर्शन पण केले. हाताने काम करून शिकण्याची गरज आणि सतत नवनवीन गोष्टी शिकण्याचे महत्त्व त्यांनी विद्यार्थ्यांना सांगितले.

Book release ceremony of ‘Kahani Pabalchya vidyan ashramachi’ (Story of Pabal’s Vigyan Ashram), the book written by the Director of Vigyan Ashram Dr. Yogesh Kulkarni and published by ‘Samakalin Prakashan’ was held on Sunday, 8th October 2023 at Pune. Senior researcher, author and inventor Shri. Arvind Gupta was present as the chief guest on this occasion.

Before the main ceremony of the book release, Shri. Arvind Gupta sir visited the DIY (Do It Yourself) lab of Vigyan Ashram, Pune and saw different projects done by the students in the lab. During this visit, he interacted with the lab students and also guided them. He told the students about the need for learning by doing and the importance of constantly learning new things.

मी लिहिलेले 'कहाणी पाबळच्या विज्ञान आश्रमाची' हे पुस्तक समकालीन प्रकाशन तर्फे प्रसिध्द होत आहे. या पुस्तकाचे औपचारिक प्रकाशन दि.८ ऑक्टोबर रोजी होणार आहे. कार्यक्रमाला डॉक्टर अरविंद गुप्ता हे प्रमुख पाहुणे असणार आहेत.

🎯 🎯 Hiring Interns for DIY Lab of Vigyan Ashram, Pune

✅ We are hiring full time/ part time interns for our DIY (Do It Yourself) Lab.

Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Develop content for DIY and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) activities for 8th and 9th grade students (SSC board- Marathi, Semi-English medium)
2. Design and conduct DIY activities for 9th grade students of PMC schools
3. Writing project report

Posts: 2 positions

Qualification: B.Sc. (complete or pursuing 2nd/3rd year), Diploma in engineering (Pursuing 2nd/3rd year)

Project Duration: Until academic year 2023-24

Location: Kothrud and local travel to PMC schools

Stipend: Will be paid depending on the time commitment per week plus travel allowance to schools and back (at actuals)

🔔 Make your own Ganapati makhar 🔔

Dear students and parents,
On coming Saturday (16th of September), we are organizing an event at the DIY lab for making DIY Ganapati makhar from easily available material.

You can chose your design and we will provide required material and tools to you. Take your makhar with you (one makhar per family).

This will be a great opportunity for you to come at the DIY lab along with your family and make a wonderful makhar for your Ganesha.

Today, on the occasion of Raksha bandhan, our DIY Lab students happily wearing 3D printed lithophane rakhis.

These rakhis are made using their photos along with their siblings..their photoframes are illuminated using LEDs.

A new batch of young makers in the lab learning basics of electronics through paper circuits 🧑‍🔧

It makes possible for a child to visualise how circuits work through this method. It also is a kind of crafting activity like a greeting card making.
