From 31st May to 10th June 2024, 21 enthusiastic girl students of Vidya Vihar Residential School, Parora, embarked on an extraordinary journey to Panchmarhi, Madhya Pradesh, accompanied by their dedicated lady teachers, Mrs. Kamlinee Kusum and Mrs. Rupali Das. This trip, a perfect blend of nature study and adventurous trekking, was meticulously organized under the Bharat Scout and Guide Panchmarhi, Madhya Pradesh.

Our trip commenced on the 31st of May, with spirits high and hearts filled with excitement. Over the next 11 days, the girls participated in a variety of thrilling activities designed to challenge their limits and foster a deep connection with nature. During the trekking expeditions, our girls had the privilege of exploring some of Panchmarhi’s most breathtaking sites:

2. **Bee Falls** - A mesmerizing waterfall where the girls enjoyed the refreshing mist and scenic beauty.
3. **Jata Shankar Cave** - A spiritual and natural marvel with fascinating rock formations.
4. **Pandav Cave** - Historic caves believed to be the abode of the Pandavas during their exile.
5. **Handi Khoh** - A dramatic canyon with lush surroundings.
6. **Mahadev Hills** - Offering challenging treks and rewarding views.
7. **Priyadarshini Point** - A viewpoint named after Indira Gandhi, offering stunning vistas.
8. **Bada Mahadev** - A revered cave temple dedicated to Lord Shiva.
9. **Gupt Mahadev** - Another sacred cave shrine with a tranquil atmosphere.
10. **Rich Garh** - Known for its historic significance and natural beauty.
11. **Museum** - Providing a glimpse into the region’s rich history and culture.
12. **Bison Lodge** - A historic lodge turned museum showcasing Panchmarhi’s heritage.

Evenings were reserved for campfires, where the girls gathered around to share stories, sing songs, and perform cultural programs. These moments not only helped in building a stronger bond among the participants but also provided a platform to showcase their talents.

From learning the basics of rifle shooting and archery to conquering their fears through rock climbing and zip-lining, each activity was a step towards building self-confidence and honing their skills. The introduction to Scouting and Guiding was particularly enlightening, instilling in them the values of teamwork, leadership, and self-reliance.

🌄 **Nature Study Cum Trekking Adventure with Vidya Vihar Residential School Scouts and Guides** 🌄

From June 3rd to June 7th, 2024, the junior wing of Scouts and Guides from Vidya Vihar Residential School, Parora, embarked on an unforgettable journey to Kurseong and Darjeeling in West Bengal. This exhilarating Nature Study Cum Trekking trip saw the participation of 39 enthusiastic students, guided by four dedicated teachers and the District Organization Commissioner cm District Instructor Commissioner Scouts of Purnia District, Mr. Diwakar Kumar.

Our team of educators, including Mr. Ashish Jha, Ms. Kanchan Singh, and Mrs. Priyanka Mishra, under the leadership of Principal Shri Nikhil Ranjan, ensured the trip was both educational and adventurous.

# # # **Activities and Experiences:**

1. **Trekking Adventures:**
The lush green hills of Kurseong and Darjeeling provided the perfect backdrop for our trekking activities. The students trekked through the serene landscapes, learning about the local flora and fauna, and developing a deep appreciation for nature.

2. **Obstacle Courses:**
Challenging and fun, the obstacle courses tested the physical endurance and problem-solving skills of our young scouts and guides. It was a perfect blend of learning and play.

3. **Archery and Shooting:**
Students tried their hands at archery and shooting, developing focus, precision, and patience under the careful supervision of trained instructors.

4. **Fun-Based Activities:**
A variety of team-building games and fun activities were organized, promoting camaraderie and cooperation among the students.

5. **Visits to Notable Institutions:**
- **Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (HMI):**
The students visited the prestigious HMI in Darjeeling, where they had an insightful interaction with the Principal, Group Captain Jai Kishan. They learned about the history and achievements of the institute, and the importance of mountaineering skills.
- **Himalayan Zoological Park:**
A visit to the zoo allowed the students to see a variety of Himalayan wildlife up close, fostering a deeper understanding of wildlife conservation.

6. **Darjeeling Sightseeing:**
The students explored the scenic beauty and cultural heritage of Darjeeling, visiting famous landmarks and experiencing the vibrant local culture.

7. **Daily Campfire:**
Each night ended with a campfire, where students gathered to share stories, sing songs, and bond over their shared experiences. It was a time of reflection and joy, creating memories that will last a lifetime.

# # # **Special Initiatives:**
Under the banner of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Group Captain Jai Kishan introduced the students to a remarkable mission to display an Indian flag measuring 7500 sq. ft. across various iconic locations. This flag has already been showcased at Mt. Rhenok in Sikkim, HMI Darjeeling, Victoria Memorial in Kolkata, the Statue of Unity in Gujarat, Union Glacier in Antarctica, and Srinagar. The initiative inspired the students to understand the importance of national pride and unity.

# # # **Organizational Support:**
This incredible trip was organized under the guidance of the Bharat Scouts and Guides Kurseong, West Bengal. Their support ensured that the trip was well-coordinated and that the students had a safe and enriching experience.

In conclusion, the Nature Study Cum Trekking trip was a resounding success, providing our students with invaluable experiences and lessons. It was a perfect amalgamation of adventure, education, and cultural enrichment. A big thank you to all the teachers, organizers, and especially the enthusiastic students who made this trip memorable. 📢 **Vidya Vihar Residential School Shines at NCC Annual Training Camp!** 🌟

We are thrilled to announce that 29 of our students participated in the NCC 10-day annual camp held at Old Transit Camp, Barauni from May 21st to May 30th, 2024. Under the guidance of our dedicated NCC ANO, Mr. Sandip Jha, our cadets excelled in various activities and competitions, making us all immensely proud.

The camp, organized by the 35 Bihar Battalion NCC Purnia, saw participation from around 600 cadets from districts like Purnia, Araria, Kishanganj, Katihar, and Bhagalpur. It was an enriching experience, with cadets receiving training in employment opportunities through army recruiting, military services entry via NCC, and youth awareness programs. We were also honored to have expert sessions from the Fire Fighting Team-Barauni and Dr. Ruchi Pandey from Primary Health Center, Teghra Barauni, on critical topics like fire fighting, health, and hygiene.

Our cadets participated in a variety of activities including group dance, group song, optical training, firing, kho-kho, volleyball, and tug of war. The camp also featured a 5 km night march, drills, tent pitching, weapon training, map reading, field craft-battle craft, and obstacle training. These activities were not just about physical endurance but also about learning teamwork, discipline, and leadership.

Special accolades to our talented students who brought home medals:
- Ajita Binod and Shresth Kumar for their outstanding performance in the shooting competition.
- Ishan Ishu for his impressive skills in volleyball.
- Aditya Bhardwaj, who was recognized as the Best Cadet in the BRVO group.

Moreover, three of our students have been selected for the prestigious TSC camp, while two students, Rohan Pratap and Aditya Bhardwaj, have been selected for the Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat (EBSB) camp, a national-level camp to be held in July. This selection is a testament to their hard work and dedication.

The camp concluded with cultural programs featuring folk songs of Bihar, folk dances, patriotic drama, and painting, where our cadets showcased their talents with great enthusiasm. These programs were not only entertaining but also fostered a sense of national pride and unity among the participants.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Camp Commandant Colonel Manish Verma for his inspiring address and to Subedar Major Suresh Chand and all members of the 35 Bihar Battalion for their cooperation in making this camp a success. The support from teachers and guest instructors who delivered lectures on various NCC syllabus topics was invaluable.

His academic voyage stands as a testament to his perseverance and determination, culminating in a remarkable achievement—an A+ grade in Computer Science from BIT Sindri.

We are thrilled to announce that two of our talented teams—Nikhil Raj & Anubhav, and Shahil Ranjan & Pushkar Priyam—participated in the Environment Quiz organized by the Bihar State Pollution Control Board, Govt of Bihar. This event was held at Adhiweshan Bhawan in Patna to celebrate World Environment Day 2024.

Out of approximately 80 teams from various schools across Bihar and the Patna region, both of our teams qualified for the top 8 finalists in the prelims round! This is an incredible achievement, demonstrating their dedication and knowledge.

We are especially proud to share that the team consisting of Nikhil Raj and Anubhav secured the runner-up position, earning a golden shining trophy, books, certificates, and a cash prize of ₹20,000. Their success is a testament to their hard work and the excellent mentorship provided by Amit Lakra Sir and Bishal Kumar. Special thanks to Bishal Kumar for his exceptional guidance and support.

The entire Vidya Vihar community—teachers, staff, and students—celebrates this significant achievement. We are filled with pride and joy for our teams and their mentors. This success underscores our commitment to fostering excellence in our students.

On this special occasion of World Environment Day 2024, the Bihar State Pollution Control Board organized this quiz competition to raise public awareness about nature. The event featured prominent figures like Secretary of Environment, Forest and Climate Change Department, Mrs. Bandana Preyashi, Chairman Dr. DK Shukla, and Member Secretary Mr. S Chandrashekhar, who encouraged the winners and took an 11-point resolution for the conservation, promotion, and pollution control of the environment.

We are incredibly proud to announce that our alumnus, Vaibhav Kumar (Roll No. 1112, Native of Patna), has achieved outstanding success by securing the 14th rank in the highly competitive UPSC Examination for the post of Assistant Labour Commissioner under the Junior Time Scale (JTS) Grade of Central Labour Service! 🎉

Out of the lakhs of aspirants who appeared for the exam, only 29 posts were advertised, and Vaibhav's dedication and hard work have earned him this prestigious position.
