We all love fresh Fruit juice, but vegetable juicing recipes are a bit brow-raising especially to beginners of the raw foods diet. Fresh fruits are naturally sweet but most vegetables aren't. Is there a way to make something healthy taste better than fresh lawn clippings? You bet there is! Here are some tips for preparing your vegetable juicing recipes:
1. Add in some fruit or carrots to sweeten up your greens and mellow out the taste. People on raw food diets or juicing aficionados won't only put unpeeled carrots into the juicer; they'd also add in some greens and other vegetables like cucumbers and celery. If you want a sweeter blend, add in an apple or pear to your juice. That will not only add flavor, but will boost the vitamins and mineral content of your vegetable juice.
2. Go fresh, go organic. If you can, choose fresh, organic vegetables and fruits for your vegetable juicing recipes. Fresh means more nutritional value and tastier juices, and organic means healthier drinks as these weren't sprayed with chemical pesticides. Fresh and organic vegetables are more consistent with your health goals.
3. It’s best to leave the skins on in juicing vegetable recipes, that’s where much of the nutritional value is. Your juicer will shred and break down the skins and extract all that nutritional goodness for you to enjoy.
4. Get a good juicer to get the most out of vegetable juicing recipes. You want to get as much juice from your fruits and vegetables as you can, while preserving the vitality they contain. Some juicers may produce better juice, but can be more difficult to clean, so think about what will work best for you. It’s better to juice every day with a slightly inferior juicer than once a week with a great juicer. The most important thing is that any juicer you purchase should have the capability to juice leafy greens. A juicer that can juice greens along with fruits and hard vegetables might cost a little more, but juicing greens is the secret to good health. Hurom makes a vertical slow juicer that is a great value, reliable, and easy to clean. It’s the one I have at home that gets used the most.
5. Vary your ingredients. Be creative with your vegetable juicing recipes not only for your palate’s sake, but for the nutritional value that variety will bring you. Let your imagination run wild and over time work towards drinking plenty of green juices as they are packed full of nutrition, have low sugar content, and can help alkalize your body. Read more on the importance of alkalizing your body.
Get started now! Even if you can only afford the cheapest juicer buy it now and get started.
Nutrition From Mango Juice
Mangoes are considered to be an extremely good food choice for dieters because it has a high fiber content and a low calorie content. A mango provides about 40% of the general daily fiber requirement for the human body. This contributes to more than just reducing the intensity of heartburn and constipation, as it also serves to reduce cholesterol counts, blood levels and is said to reduce cancer development risk. The nutrients contained in mango juice include significant sources of vitamin A and vitamin C. Both of these help to regulate the enzymes, as well as metabolic processes. It thereby allows the body to manage appetite much better. It is, however, important to avoid consuming too much mango juice as it will lead to a significant rise in blood sugar over a period of time.
Side Effects Of Mango Juice
The only mango juice side effect is that if too much of it is consumed over a long period of time, the blood sugar levels within the body are likely to shoot up considerably, giving rise to serious medical conditions such as diabetes. The pieces of fruit that have come from worm infested mango plantations should not be consumed, because they may cause harm to the body.
Health Benefits of Tomato Juice
Tomatoes are often considered a vegetable, though in actuality they are a citrus fruit. Tomatoes are an incredibly versatile food. They are delicious eaten raw, in salads or on sandwiches, and take on a wonderful sweetness when cooked. Their high acid content makes them a perfect food for canning. Tomatoes are such an important part of the American diet that it’s hard to believe that they were once considered toxic. It wasn’t until the mid 1800’s that they became a staple food in the U.S.
One medium whole tomato contains around 22 calories, 0 grams of fat, 5 grams of carbohydrates, 1 gram of dietary fiber, 1 gram of protein and 6 milligrams of sodium. It also provides 40 percent of the recommended daily allowance of vitamin C, 20 percent of the RDA of vitamin A, 2 percent of the RDA of iron, and 1 percent of the RDA of calcium. Here are some of the health benefits of tomatoes.
1. Ward off Cancer
Numerous studies have concluded that the more tomatoes people eat the lower their risks of certain cancers, especially lung, stomach and prostate cancers. A substance called lycopene, which is responsible for tomatoes red color, is thought to be the reason for this cancer protective effect. Processed tomatoes contain even more lycopene than raw ones. The process of cooking breaks down the cell walls, helping to release the lycopene. Eating tomatoes with a little bit of fat, such as olive oil, helps lycopene to be better absorbed by the body.
2. Prevent DNA Damage
Tomatoes are high in important antioxidants such as vitamin C and Vitamin A. These vitamins work to fend of DNA damage from free radicals. Consequently, tomatoes may help to ward off age related diseases such as atherosclerosis and diabetes.
3. Reduce the Risk of Heart Disease
Tomatoes contain important nutrients, such as niacin, folate and vitamin B6, that have associated with the reduction of heart disease risk. One study found that women who ate 7 to 10 servings of tomato products per week had a 29 percent lower risk of cardiovascular disease than women who consumed less than a serving and a half of tomato products each week. Results were even more impressive when the women ate oil-rich tomato products.
4. Protect Against Thrombosis
Another study showed that drinking 8 ounces of tomato juice daily reduced platelet aggregation significantly, among study subjects. Those drinking a placebo showed no benefit. It’s important to drink low-sodium tomato juice if you are trying to protect against thrombosis (blood clots in the blood vessel) , as high sodium levels can cause negative effects for this type of disease.
5. Ward off Inflammation
A double blind study found that drinking a glass of tomato juice a day can reduce blood levels of TNF-alpha by 34 percent. TNF-alpha causes inflammation. High levels have been found in individuals with most chronic, degenerative diseases such as heart disease, cancer, osteoporosis and Alzheimer’s

Benefits of Watermelon Juice
The red watermelon has lycopene in high quantities. Lycopene is an antioxidant and helps to prevent many diseases.
Beta carotene and lycopene are compounds which guard plants against damage from sunlight. These help to neutralize the “free radicals,” roaming molecules that cause tissue and organ damage, in our bodies.
Lycopene helps to minimize risks of strokes and other ailments like rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, colon cancer and asthma.
Watermelon is an important addition for a low-fat, low-cholesterol diet.
Watermelon is rich in antioxidants that help to prevent kidney stones, cancers and cardiac ailments.
Another benefit is that watermelon is a great source of potassium, which helps to regulate blood pressure levels keeping your heart healthy.
Watermelon juice is essential as a preventive against bone loss.
A watermelon diet is an excellent source of energy because it contains Vitamin B.
Watermelon seeds are rich sources of protein and micro and macro-nutrients like calcium, iron, potassium, zinc and phosphorus.
Watermelon juice helps to lower risks of age-related macular degeneration that may lead to loss of vision in elders
The fruit is beneficial in checking erectile dysfunction and increases insulin sensitivity.
Note :- Do not add sugar to your juice
Health Benefits of Drinking Orange Juice for Breakfast
If your breakfast is about as healthy as Will Ferrell’s in Elf -- a plate of spaghetti smothered in marshmallows, sprinkles, syrup, and breakfast tarts -- we YOU Docs want you to know you can reverse the damage from sugar-loaded, trans-fatty breakfast foods that dull your brain, wrinkle your skin, cool your passions, clog your arteries, damage your liver, increase your risk of cancer, and make your RealAge older. Phew. You’ve squeezed a remedy right out of us: orange juice!
Turns out the health benefits in just a 300-calorie serving of orange juice douse the fires of inflammation and the oxidizing power of super-evil free radicals that flood your system after eating a 900-calorie, high-fat, high-carb meal. (Think Sausage, Egg & Cheese McGriddles -- 560 calories and 48 grams of carbs -- and two hash browns -- 300 calories and 30g carbs.)
What in orange juice protects you from your worst habits? It's a SWAT team of bioflavonoids that stomp out the free radicals’ cell-rusting damage. (The same chemical reaction turns salad oil rancid and a raw slice of potato brown.)
Tip: Cut calories elsewhere in your diet to balance the added ones from OJ. It’s a small sacrifice to gain the benefits of orange juice's nutrients, such as naringenin, hesperidin, and beta-cryptoxanthin, and to protect your joints from arthritis and your arteries from plaque. Another tip: Go for juice loaded with pulp. It’s got twice as much vitamin C as the peel and 10 times as much as pure juice.
The Sour Sop or the fruit from the graviola tree is a miraculous natural cancer cell killer 10,000 times stronger than Chemo Therapy.
Have you tried this golden fruit?
POMELOS have 410 mg of potassium per serving, which like Vitamin C plays a role in supporting the heart. There is no DV for potassium but 4700 mg per day is considered adequate. This essential mineral regulates blood pressure levels. Abundant with pectin, pomelo juice is capable of clearing the arterial deposits accumulated in the body, thereby reducing the impurities and benefitting people with hypertension. People on blood thinning, kidney and other medications need to use caution when eating potassium rich foods like pomelos, as it can have a negative impact and serous health complications.
Grapefruits and likely pomelos are the only known fruits containing s***m dine, which is also found in human s***m. A laboratory-based study found s***m dine to protect cells from processes related to aging and cell damage. In the study s***m dine increased the lifespan of flies, blood cells, yeast and worms. S***m dine introduced to the blood cells of white mice protected them from particular types of cell damage, but their lifespan were not reported
5 ways to look after your liver
Toxin ban
The liver filters all of the toxins in our bodies, so the more toxins you put into your body, the more your liver has to filter these potentially harmful poisons. Therefore, if you want to look after your liver you need to limit the amount of toxins you put into your body.
Some common items you may use every day that contain toxins include ci******es, cleaning products, aerosol sprays and some beauty products, such as makeup or shampoo. To limit the amount of toxins you put into your body, opt for organic products. It is also a good idea to stop smoking and, where possible, try to avoid using these toxin-filled products in enclosed spaces.
Time for tea
Although controversial, milk thistle has been used to help people with liver disease and many believe it works wonders for your liver. The milk thistle seeds can be drunk as a tea and if you want to keep your liver healthy this hot drink may help you; especially if you have liver damage as a result of drinking alcohol or because of toxins. The active ingredient in milk thistle that is thought to help your liver is silymarin, which has anti-inflammatory properties. Silymarin is also an antioxidant.
However, before you dash out to buy a big stock of milk thistle tea, it is worth noting that studies have been contradictory and whilst some show that milk thistle is beneficial to the liver, others conclude that it is not.
Detox foods
In the same way that some foods can harm our liver, there are also foods that can help make our livers healthier and stronger. One such food is the artichoke. Adding some globe artichoke to some of your meals will help you keep your liver healthy because it is renowned for its ability to stimulate and improve the functions of the liver. Similarly, eating beetroot will help your liver because beetroot helps support liver detoxification. You could always add a small beetroot salad as a side-dish to your meal.
Some research has also found that drinking green tea can help keep your liver healthy, as it may protect it from some liver diseases, such as fatty liver disease. Again, studies are not conclusive about the benefits of green tea though.
Cut back
Shockingly, it is thought that a quarter of adults drink too much alcohol and we drink so much that we put our health at risk. If you worry you are drinking to the point where you might damage your liver, be aware of how many alcohol units you should be consuming. In addition to this, if you want to look after your liver make sure you have two alcohol-free days during the week.
These ‘rest days’ are essential for keeping your liver healthy because it allows the liver to repair the damage you have done by drinking excessively. Also, it is advised that if you exceed the recommended daily limit of alcohol you should not drink for at least 48 hours after. Again, this will give your liver a chance to recover and repair itself.
Get moving
Interestingly, exercise will help you to look after your liver. One type of liver disease that is affecting more and more people is non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). This disease is caused by fat building up in the liver. This fat can scar and damage your liver. One of the simplest ways to avoid NAFLD, or to help limit the disease’s progress, is to get moving and take regular exercise.
If you have not exercised in some time, then the prospect of getting into shape can be daunting. The best thing to do first is to work out whether you are fit enough to train. Once you know you are fit enough to exercise, think about what you would enjoy doing. Finding something you will actually stick to is the key to getting fitter. You should then aim to be active for 30 minutes a day and try to do a mix of cardiovascular and strength training exercises.

Advantages of GM diet
This 7-day diet plan was developed for the employees of General Motors. The main aim of this program was to attain good health and fitness. A look at the major benefits of the diet should be enough to convince you of its importance and success:
Lose 5kgs to 8kgs within 7 days
Reduces flab from the tummy area
Adds natural glow to the skin
Rids the body of the toxins and you actually feel light and happy
The diet plan will sound outrageously cruel, but it becomes easy to follow if you complete the first two days successfully. By successful completion, it is obviously implied that you resist every single urge to break the diet regime. However, you must get a nod from your doctor before attempting this diet.
Here’s the day-wise GM diet plan (along with a cheat-sheet)
Day 1
Only fruits, with the exception of bananas, litchi, mangoes and grapes. Eat lots of watermelon, melon, pomegranates, apples, lime, oranges, strawberries and any other fruit that you like. Eat 20 times a day, if you want to, but only fruits.
**If you feel yourself craving for salt, then a tiny-winy ‘hajmola’ tab will help immensely....
Day 2
Only vegetables. Begin your day with one boiled potato with a tea-spoon of butter. For the rest of the day, eat only raw, boiled or otherwise cooked vegetables without oil. Don't eat more than one potato for the day. You can eat cabbage, carrots, cucumber, gourd and other vegetables. Add basil and oregano seasoning to them to make them more edible.
Day 3
Basically a combination of Day 1 and Day 2, which means you can eat fruits and vegetables of your liking, but no bananas or potatoes. Eat to your heart’s content and don’t forget to drink a lot of water.
Day 4
Bananas and Milk. You have the liberty to eat almost 6 bananas and have up to 4 glasses of milk. Though, you were told that bananas lead to weight gain, in this diet, the bananas act as a source of sodium and potassium, since your salt intake during the GM diet had
Day 5
Another feast day where you can eat sprouts, tomatoes and cottage cheese (paneer). You could also eat chicken or soya chunks. Supplement your diet with the wonder soup. Increase the intake of water on account of t
Day 6
