Kaginahare fort:
This is a small fort/watchtower which is now in ruins. This approximately 2 kms west of Kaginahare village. The village itself is around 8kms from Alora Homestay, Hongadahalla village in Sakleshpur Taluk. Kaginahare village is an exit point of the Donigal-Yedakumari railway track trek. It also has a very good view of the surrounding area.

Sri Chamundeshwari Temple Kaginahare:
This temple has a history. People believe that what they wish will come true, a fair is held here once a year in the month of May and people can see the ocean here. It is 6 km from Alora Homestay

Ottu shavige or rice noodles is prepared using rice, salt and water. Ottu shavige or akki shavige is a breakfast recipe and is popular by different names like semettu, shamige, shyavige, idiyappam and nool puttu. Ottu shavige is a very easy steamed rice noodles recipe.In Karnataka, authentic ottu shavige or akki shavige is prepared by grinding the soaked rice. The rice batter is half cooked, dumplings are steamed and then finally pressed using the noodles mould (shavige mane).

Akki rotti is a rice-based breakfast item unique to the state of Karnataka, India. Akki rotti means "rice bread" in the native language, Kannada. It is made of rice flour which is mixed with salt and water and kneaded well till the dough gets soft.

undi or Pundi Gatti, usually a round shaped soft rice dumpling belonging to Mangalorean cuisine, native to Tulu Nadu region of India, prepared by soaking, grinding, tempering, cooking and finally steaming the rice. Pundi Gatti is popularly known as Pundi in Udupi and Mangalore cities of Karnataka state.
