All students of this college are urged to attend the programme.

IM GDC Shopian Organises One Day Awareness Programme on NEP-2020 for the Students of 1st Semester Batch 2022.

Shopian: The Admission Committee of Imtiyaz Memorial Govt. Degree College Shopian organized Awareness Programme on National Education Policy-2020 (NEP-2020) for B.G. 1st Semester Students on 23-08-2022.

The programme was attended by staff and large number of students of the college. The Principal of the College, Prof. Bashir Ahmad Dar was the Chief Guest for the event. Speaking on the occasion, Prof. B. A. Dar spoke on the theme in a detailed manner besides apprising the new entrants about the available infrastructural facilities in the institution.

He exhorted the students to make best use of the available facilities in the college, to attend classes regularly and work hard to achieve excellence. He lauded the efforts of College Admission Committee for switching over to easy and vibrant online admission mode replacing an earlier offline process.

The Staff Secretary of the College, Prof. Tariq Hussain Mir while speaking in the event advised the students to maintain discipline, punctuality and inculcate in themselves the best human values for the their all round development. Prof. Tariq maintained that discipline and submissiveness are the pillars of success for the student community and these are,in fact, the main aim of the teaching-learning process.

Dr. Aijaz Ahmad Wachkoo (Assistant Professor Zoology & Convener Admission Committee) delivered a full length presentation on the “Institutional Framework of NEP-2020”. He clarified every doubt of the students regarding the subject combinations, selection of Multidisciplinary and Value Added Courses besides deliberating at length about the Multiple Exit Scheme, Academic Bank of Credits etc.
Dr. Aashiq Hussain Lone (Assistant Professor Commerce & Convener College Website Committee) explained through hands on practice demonstration to the students the procedure for filling online Admission form, choosing the minor, multidisciplinary and valued added courses and fee payment through Internet Payment Gateway System for different semesters under NEP-2020.

The Programme was moderated by Prof. Mohammad Nayeem ur Rehman (H.O.D Arabic) and the Vote of Thanks to the house was presented by Dr. Showkat Ahmad Ganaie (H.O.D Geography) GDC Shopian.

One Day picnic for BG 5th Semester ( Boys) .

This is for the information of male students of BG 5th semester going on a picnic tomorrow on Thursday June 30, 2022 that :
1. The reporting time is 6:30 am sharp for all.
2. Students are required to be in proper college uniform.
3. Students must carry their college ID cards along and produce
them when asked to.
4. Students must board the buses allotted to them and not try to exchange their buses. Any violation would invite strict disciplinary action.
5. Students must follow the advices/instructions given to them by the staff on duty all through the trip.
6. Students must not litter at the spot of picnic and all trash and recyclables must be deposited in dustbins.

Srinagar, Mar 4: In view of the Dry Run/Mock Activity to be carried out by J&K Service Selection Board on 05.03.2022 in various degreee colleges of Kashmir for the written test of Accounts Assistants (Finance), all Undergraduate examinations of the University of Kashmir scheduled to be held on 05.03.2022 (Saturday) are postponed.

Fresh dates for the deferred examinations will be notified separately later, Controller of Examinations Dr Majid Zaman Baba said.

KU postpones all exams scheduled today

Srinagar, Feb 23: The University of Kashmir has postponed all UG/PG/Professional examinations of the University scheduled to be held on February 23, 2022 (Wednesday) in view of the inclement weather conditions.

Controller of Examinations Dr Majid Zaman said fresh dates for the postponed papers will be notified separately.

Two former students of the department Ms. Nahida from Imamsahib and Ms. Bisma from Chiterwach have qualified UGC NET in Sociology in first attempt. Here is wishing them all the very best in their future endeavours.
