Missing workers rescued alive
Itanagar: Altogether 18 workers engaged in a road project in A run a half Pradesh along the Indo China border have been rescued alive 29 days after they went missing on way to their home state Assam.
According to information, these workers were found at s dense jungle in Kurung Kamei district on Friday. One of them met watery grave on the river Kurmi last week.
NDRF and IAF jawans are fanning in the entire area to trace out the missing workers.
Officials engaged in the rescue operation confirmed that all 18 workers were located and rescued alive.
Storm over cross voting in presidential polls
Guwahati: Claims of cross voting by BJP in the presidential polls early this week has triggered no less storm in the state Congress.
Chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has openly claimed to have received vote from Congress legislators in favour of NDA candidate. Talking to reporters in New Delhi after his meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Amit Shah on Friday he said that most of the Opposition party MLAs have voted for Daupudi Murmu who won the polls on Thursday.
Same it was what senior minister Piyush Hazarika said. "Right now we can't disclose their names. Since we have our well wishers only in Congress that's why, the NDA candidate received considerable amount from Congress," said Hazarika.
State Congress president Bhupen Bora virtually admitted cross voting and said, "I can't deny cross voting."
According to sources,the state leadership have written to the high command for a thorough probe.
: In a major breather for Barshree Buragohain, the Guwahati High Court has granted bail to the DCB Girl's College in Jorhat who was arrested two months back apprehending her move to join ULFA.
A division bench of the court in Guwahati granted the bail after the government refused to oppose the bail petition.
Her arrest triggered protest in view of her poem in social media which allegedly supported divisionary forces.
According to CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, she was arrested not in connection with the poem and that she might join ULFA.

One Detained from Sivasagar in Connection With Congress Leader Joining ULFA-I Case
Assam police on Sunday midnight arrested one identified as Swapnil Borpatragohain from the Sivasagar district of Assam and handed him over to the Sadiya police.
On Sunday 17 April, it came to light that a youth congress leader from Assam's Sadiya joined the banned military outfit ULFA (United Liberation Front of Asom) Independent. The Congress leader has been identified as Janardan Gogoi, a resident of Uday Nagar in the Sadiya town which is in the Tinsukia district of Assam. In a recent development of the case, one person has been detained by the Assam police for his link with Janadan Gogoi joining the banned militant organization.
The detained person has been identified as Swapnil Borpatragohain hailing from Sengelibari village in the Betbari area of Assam's Sivasagar district. Swapnil was apprehended by a team of police on Sunday from the Sivasagar district of Assam for his alleged link with ULFA (I) .

OIL spokesperson Tridiv Hazarika said, "The systems have been shut down since Monday and efforts are on to resolve the issue.
"We have been forced to withdraw all our computer systems from LAN connection after it came to our knowledge that three to four computers were hit by a virus Monday. No computer at the headquarter now has access to internet connectivity," he said.

Alliance Air's made-in-India Dornier 228 aircraft has taken its first commercial flight on Dibrugarh-Pasighat route on Tuesday (April 12) with Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia on board. Alliance Air, the regional division of Air India operating flights under the government's RCS-UDAN scheme recently took delivery of the passenger variant of Dornier 228 aircraft made by HAL under the license agreement.
The Centre-run Alliance Air had in February signed an agreement with the government-owned Hindustan Aeronautics Limited to lease two 17-seater Dornier 228 aircraft. The Dornier 228 is based on Do-228 being operated by the Indian Air Force and manufactured by HAL in India.
Its first flight between Dibrugarh in Assam and Pasighat in Arunachal Pradesh will boost connectivity in the northeastern states, the airline said in a statement. Alliance Air said it will be India's first commercial airline to fly Indian-made aircraft for civil operations.
