Autism is seen in early developmental period, esp the 1st 3yrs of age. Any child with poor eye contact, less social interaction,speech delay may have autism.

These children may have sensory issues, hyperactivity(ADHD), epilepsy, behavioural issues, sleep cycle alteration which needs to be addressed separately.

Early intervention, identifying genetic causes and treating co-morbidities makes a difference.
