When you're the biggest bovine around, you get to call the shots!

Don't mistake this gigantic beast for its more well-known cousin, the Albino Gaur. A leucistic Gaur is characterized by a pale or white coat because of their low melanin levels, making them stand out among their brown counterparts

In India, it's quite rare to come across a Leucistic Gaur, as only a select few areas, including Satpura, have been known to have them roaming about

Satpura National Park is home to a number of gaurs, also known as Indian Bison. They are the largest species of the bovine kind, and they are found throughout Indian forests, including Satpura National Park. They are known for their massive sizes and their shaggy coats

A male Gaur can weigh upto 1000 kgs! They can often be seen grazing in the National Park's forests, and they are a popular sight for our guests on wildlife safaris. They are typically found in small herds and are known for their intelligence and their ability to adapt to their surroundings.
