In a very significant stride towards community development, Mrs. Parmeet Kour, District Development Councellor (DDC) of Rafiabad (Dangiwacha) constituency, took a proactive step today by distributing sports kits among 10 local sports clubs of her constituency here at Community Hall Dangiwacha.
The District Youth Services & Sports Officer Barammualla , shri Jatinder Singh Ji, Zonal Physical Education Officer Dangiwacha, Shri Ichpal Singh Kala Ji, Zonal Physical Education Officer Rohama, Shri Gunjeet Singh Ji, Chairman Civil Society Dangiwacha, Janab Syed Basharat were the part of distribution ceremony.
The sports kits, aimed at fostering a culture of sports and physical well-being, were procured through grants from various sources, including the District Capex Budget, Area Development Fund, and DDC Grants for the fiscal year 2023-24.
This initiative reflects the commitment of DDC Rafiabad (Dangiwacha) to promote sports at the grassroots level, providing essential equipments to local clubs and enhance the opportunities for aspiring athletes. The utilization of diverse funding channels underscores the councellor's dedication to maximizing community impact and ensuring a holistic approach to development.
While speaking, she expressed enthusiasm for the positive impact these sports kits will have on the local sports community, emphasizing the councilor's commitment to uplifting the overall well-being and vibrancy of the Rafiabad Constituency.

The department of Youth Services and Sports, Zone Dangiwacha Celebrated National Sports Day with zeal, Zest & great fervour across the zone in which record 2314 participants took actively part. The activities like Hockey, Sprints, Volleyball, Kho-Kho, Kabbadi, Badminton, Frog jumping, Rope skipping, Carom, Chess & Tug of War competitions were organized.
The biggest event was organized at GHS Watergam Sports field wherein along with GHS Watergam different nearby schools like BMS Watergam, BMS G K Khan, Paradise Public School Watergam g Holyfaith Public School Watergam participated and accumulated the participation to 390.
It's pertinent to mention here that all field staff members of zone made this National Sports Day a huge success by organizing the different sports activities at respective school.
The Zonal activity (National Sports Day) was made a grand success due to the efforts of Shri. Sharn Pal Singh (PEM, GHS Watergam) & Tariq Ahmad Sheikh (PET, GHS Watergam).
Inter-School Zonal Level Taekwondo U/14 & U/17 (B&G) competitions concluded at Dangiwacha.
101 participants (B&G) , in different age and Weight categories, took active part in the events and making it a grand success.
Trials of Inter-School Zonal Level Taekwondo U/14 & U/17 (B&G) to be held at Community Hall Dangiwacha.
All interested Schools are advised to deploy school contingents to the venue under proper Teacher Es**rt, in proper uniform & along with requisite documents.

Dangiwacha: Celebrating Unity, Patriotism, and Sportsmanship
The Department of Youth Services and Sports J&K, Zone Dangiwacha, orchestrated an inspiring "Prabhat Pheri" Har Ghar Triranga Rally across Block Rafiabad and Block Kandi, Rafiabad. This vibrant event witnessed 385 enthusiastic students from various institutions in the Dangiwacha zone coming together to celebrate unity and patriotism.
Under the presence of Tehsildar Dangiwacha, ZPEO DANGIWACHA Ichpal Singh, and ZEO DANGIWACHA Principal HSS DANGIWACHA, the rally kicked off with great fervor. The event not only showcased the spirit of unity but also highlighted the unbreakable bond between the youth and the nation's flag.
In addition to the rally, the Zone Dangiwacha organized an invigorating throwball competition for boys under 17 years at HSS DANGIWACHA. With 56 young athletes showcasing their prowess and sportsmanship, the event was a resounding success, fostering a sense of pride and camaraderie within the community.
Continuing strength Zonal Physical Education Officer, Zone Dangiwacha (Shri Ichpal Singh Kala ji) along with his hardworking field staff members organized a full-fledged PADHYATRA under the Banner of "Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav" from Satrina to Chatoosa in which 200 students from various schools of Kandi-Rafiabad belt took active part.
The Padh Yatra celebrated the nation's freedom while emphasizing the crucial role of education in shaping a brighter future.These events serve as a testament to the dedication and enthusiasm of the youth in embracing sports and education, uniting the community in pride and camaraderie.

BARAMULLA, July 19, 2023 โ The Department of Youth Services and Sports, Zone Dangiwacha, successfully organized a spirited Cyclothon event today, as part of the ongoing nationwide celebrations of "Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav." The event witnessed the active participation of 150 students from various educational institutions within Zone Dangiwacha. The Cyclothon was flagged off from Trauma Hospital Watergam and culminated at HSS Dangiwacha, covering a significant distance. This event aimed to promote fitness, health, and the spirit of unity among the youth of the region. It provided an exciting opportunity for young participants to engage in physical activity while fostering a sense of camaraderie.

The Zonal Physical Education Office , Zone Dangiwacha under the leadership of Shri Ichpal Singh Kala ji , ZPEO Dangiwacha, has successfully resumed the Inter school competitions at Gund Karim Khan Sports Field. The competitions featured 26 teams in Volleyball & 29 teams in Kho-Kho from different govt as well as private schools. The competitions were successfully restarted under the age group of 14 category for boys. These competitions witnessed a high level of competitiveness and spirit with teams displaying great sports enthusiasm. The participants who are taking part in these competitions expressed their gratitude to the department of youth services & sports for organizing such memorable events.
