Ministerial staff of CF office warmly felicitated the Conservator of Forests Sh. Irfan Rasool IFS on his promotion to CCF rank, acknowledging his commitment to environment and forest conservation.
North circle gave a warm farewell to their retiring Divisional Forest Officer Mr. Mohammad Ayoub Pandith DFO Kehmil Forest Division in a ceremony held at conference room in CF office. The officers remembered working of Mr. Mohammad Ayoub Pandith with appreciation and fond memories on this occasion. The event was attended by Conservator of Forests North Circle, DFO Kamraj, DFO JV, Project Officer Uri CAT, DFO SCFC Pohru, colleagues from Forest Protection Force, Social Forestry and Forest Development Corporation.
A farewell meeting was organized for Mr. Anurag Arya, a bright and dedicated Indian Forest Service (IFS) probationer who completed his initial training period in Jhelum Valley Forest Division Baramulla North Circle Jammu and Kashmir. The meeting , held at circle office was presided by Irfan Rasool IFS Conservator of Forests North Circle.
Additional Pr Chief Conservator Forests inspects boundary consolidation, plantation works in Sopore.
Sopore December 02 (KNS): Focused on ensuring effective forest management, the Additional Pr. Chief Conservator of Forests (APCCF) Kashmir T. Rabi Kumar IFS today inspected the ongoing initiatives of forest department viz boundary consolidation and plantation works in Kandi Range of Kamraj Forest Division. He was accompanied by Conservator of Forests Irfan Rasool IFS, DFO Kamraj Forest Division Zahid Moghul and Range Officer Kandi Mohammad Altaf Dar.
APCCF inspected boundary consolidation works in Emberzalwari Forest in Co. 33/K of Kandi Range. He was informed that 780 BP's have been delineated on ground and approximately 121 hectares of forest land has been recovered due to carrying out of demarcation exercise.
Expressing satisfaction with the progress achieved, the APCCF reiterated the importance of boundary consolidation in preserving the ecological balance of Kandi Range. This proactive step shall preserve the integrity of forest ecosystem, strengthen the boundaries and prevent encroachments. He said.
The Additional Pr. Chief Conservator of Forests also conducted a comprehensive inspection of ongoing plantation works in co.32 undertaken in Kandi Range in CAMPA scheme. Emphasizing the importance of sustainable forestry practices and improving green cover, the APCCF assessed the progress, biodiversity impact, and quality assurance measures of the plantation. He stressed to engaging with local communities and stakeholders to strengthen collaborative conservation efforts.(KNS)

Conservator of Forests North Circle tours Kehmil Forest Division.
The Conservator of Forests, North circle Kashmir Irfan Rasool IFS conducted tour of Kehmil Forest Division and inspected the progress of plantation and demarcation work. The Conservator of Forests was accompanied by the Divisional Forest Officer Kehmil, Ayoub Pandith, Technical Officer Javid Rahim and other senior forest officers of Kehmil Forest Division.
The Conservator of Forests inspected the plantation work in the division and expressed satisfaction with the progress made. The Conservator of Forests also inspected the demarcation work and directed the forest officers to complete the work expeditiously.
The Conservator of Forests also visited Budnamble block of Ramhal Range and conducted meeting with PRI members. The Conservator of Forests announced opening of Trek route and Ecopark and construction of forest hut in Budnamble block for promotion of ecotourism.

Mr. Showkat Ahmad Shagoo aged 48 years left today for heavenly abode after brief illness of nearly two months. Namaz Jinaza of the deceased person was held at 8:30 a.m. in his native place, Sopore. He is survived by his Mother, wife and two children (son aged 14 years & daughter aged 12 years). He was appointed as Chowkidar in Forest Department under SRO-43 on 03-07-2000 and had joined in Langate Forest Division. Our sympathies are with the bereaved family in this tragic moment and we stand together in offering our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.
A significant step towards biodiversity conservation! The district level Biodiversity Management Committee meeting of district Kupwara was convened today under the chairmanship of Conservator of Forests North Circle to deliberate on conservation strategies and refine access and benefit sharing mechanisms for utilisation of biological resources. Key decisions were taken on regulation of NTFP trade in district Kupwara, management of ecotourism activities in Bangus valley and management of environmental parks in district Kupwara in the meeting.
Productive DPC meeting was held on 11-08-2023 under the chairmanship of Conservator of Forests North Circle Sopore. 140 deserving officials belonging to district Baramulla and Kupwara were cleared by the DPC for next higher post.

Ex-Prin. Chief Conservator of Forests and HoFF Dr. Mohit Gera IFS and Ex-Chairperson/PCCF Pollution Control Committee Ms. Neelu Gera IFS were accorded warm farewell by Conservator of Forests North Circle on their retirement from government service at Jhelum Valley Forest Division Baramulla.
Sh. Zahoor Ahmad Shah, Senior Assistant North Circle today attained retirement superannuation from government service. He was accorded warm farewell by office fraternity on this occasion.
International Day of Forests was celebrated with vigour and enthusiasm on 21st March 2023 across all forest ranges of North Circle. The mega event was organised in Hatmulla block of Kamraj Forest Division where hundreds of saplings were planted and the event was attended by APCCF/CCF Kashmir Sh. T. Rabi Kumar IFS.
Chinar day events were held across various forest ranges of north circle on 15th March. To mark the day, Chinar Saplings were planted on suitable land involving local community, Govt institutions and students.

Baramulla March 15 (KNS): J & K Forest Department organised Chinar plantation drive at Fatehgarh Baramulla today on the occasion of Chinar Day. The chief guest of the function was Dheeraj Gupta IAS Pr. Secretary to Govt, Department of Forests, Environment and Ecology. Dr. Mohit Gera, Prin. Chief Conservator of Forests and Head of Forest Force was present on the occasion.
Dheeraj Gupta planted Chinar sapling in Panchayat Ghar Fatehgarh Sheeri and distributed Chinar Saplings among people to mark the occasion. While addressing the gathering, he said Chinar trees have huge environmental and cultural significance which is embedded in our heritage and culture and it enjoys special status in our lives, therefore we must accord primacy to its preservation by carrying out its propagation on a large scale.
He was informed by Pr. Chief Conservator of Forests that Forest Department has launched Chinar promotion and conservation programme in which Chinar saplings are raised in nurseries on a large scale, then distributed and planted on available land. He was informed that Forest Research Institute has initiated geotagging of chinars in Kashmir Valley in which Chinars are marked, geotagged, characterised and allotted unique ID's.
The Pr.Secretary released ‘Chinar Brochure’ prepared by FRI on this occasion. He distributed seed balls and fruit trees among beneficiaries of 'one beat guard one village' programme and distributed solar lights among members of Village Forest Committees of Uri and Boniyar on the occasion.
The Prin.Secretary also inaugurated mega plantation Drive in Co.73/B Fatehgarh. The drive was launched on 30 hectare of degraded forest land in which CRPF, Forest Protection Force, Students and PRI's members participated. The Pr. Secretary emphasized that tree planting target of 1.5 cr must be achieved under Green J&K Drive initiative during the current financial year.
Earlier, Pr. Secretary chaired coordination meeting of forest department and district administration to address the forest matters of Baramulla district in which DC Baramulla highlighted forest related issues. The Pr. Secretary instructed in the meeting to territorial Divisions to expedite forest clearances of JJM cases, remove forest encroachments in time bound manner, complete boundary consolidation in two years and remove pendency of FRA cases.
The meeting was attended by Asaf Mehmood IFS Director Forest Research Institute, T Rabi Kumar IFS Additional Chief Conservator of Forests Kashmir, Irfan Rasool IFS Conservator of Forests North, Pervaiz Wani DFO JV Forest Division Baramulla and other territorial DFO's. (KNS)

North Circle bids farewell to Gh.Jeelani Saboon Range officer Baramulla.
North circle Kashmir today bid farewell and accorded warm send off to its Range Officer Baramulla Gh. Jeelani Saboon who attained retirement on superannuation on 31st, January 2023.
Gh. Jeelani Saboon was appointed in the year 1983 and he served forest department during last 39 years in various capacities.
Conservator of Forests Irfan Rasool was present on the occasion and he remembered his great contribution in forest management and conservation. He congratulated him for achieving pedestals of success during the service period and adviced him for planning a similar type of healthy and quality post-retirement life.
DFO Kehmil Ayoub Pandith, Project Officer Uri CAT Sajad Bhat, DFO SCFC Pohru Shafkat Sofi and Range Officers of North Circle were also present on the occasion and expressed their love, warmth and gratitude for outgoing Range officer.
Republic Day Celebrations were held today at Circle office Sopore in which Conservator of forests unfurled national flag in presence of Forest officials, FPF contingent and office staff. The conservator of forests extended greetings to forest fraternity on this occasion and thanked everyone for performing exceptionally which led to conferment of ‘J&K Government Award’ on this republic day to J & K Forest Department for meritorious public service.
