*Sopore girl's body fished out from Jhelum in Boniyar after 5 months*
Sopore, May 02 (KNO): The body of a 17-year-old girl who had jumped into the river Jhelum in Sopore town of north Kashmir on December 12 last year, was fished out nearly after 5 months, officials said in
Tuesday.
An official told news agency-Kashmir News
Observer (KNO), that the girl had jumped into the river Jhelum at Jamia bridge in Sopore on December
12 last year.
Efforts were made to retrieve her body shortly after the incident, but all in vain as authorities failed to retrieve the body.
The official said her decomposed body was retrieved by the locals in Boniyar area of Baramulla yesterday, following which the body was taken to GMC Baramulla.
He said the DNA samples of her family have also been taken and after completion of all formalities, the body will be handed over to the family for the last rites.
Notably, the authorities had called off the search operation to trace her body after 20 days-

Hidden mobile in changing room stuns minor girl, shopkeeper held

Baramulla, Apr 28 Amid the rise in moral degradation in Kashmir Valley, a case has emerged in which a readymade garments shopkeeper had been allegedly secretly taking videos of female customers changing clothes in the changing room of this shop. The case was being reported from North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

A police spokesperson said that Police Station Chandoosa in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district received a written complaint from a minor girl accompanied by her sister wherein she stated that on 26th April this month, she went to a readymade shop in Bandi Payeen area of Chandoosa.

The minor girl reported that she selected some clothes and went to changing room for trial.

After entering the changing room she found a hidden mobile phone which was kept there for secretly recording the customer's videos while changing clothes.

Police took serious note of the complaint and after investigation arrested the shopkeeper identified as Aijaz Nabi Sofi, a resident of Bandi Payeen Chandoosa who is also the owner of the said shop.

The police spokesperson said that mobile devices of the accused have also been seized and further investigation is going on.

Saudi Astronomical Society predicts Eid ul Fitr on Friday

Jeddah, April 19: An expert in Saudi Arabia has stated that the astronomical calculations indicate that Friday will be the first day of Eid Al-Fitr.

As per media reports from Saudi Arabia, Eng. Majed Abu Zahra, president of the Astronomical Society in Jeddah, said that there will be the occurrence of the phenomenon of conjugation before sunset on the evening of Thursday, Ramadan 29, corresponding to April 20.

This means that the meeting of the sun and the moon at one height in the sky when they are on one celestial longitude and the moon is moving from the west of the sun to its east, which is a global event that takes place in one moment for all parts of the world.

Speaking to Al-Arabiya.net, Abu Zahra said the sun will set from the horizon of Makkah at 06:42 in the evening of Thursday, and at that time the moon will be above the horizon at a height of 04 degrees, and the elongation or the angle that separates the moon from the sun is 05 degrees, and its illumination is 0.2 percent.

The moon will set at 7:06 p.m. after 24 minutes of sunset, and thus the conditions for entering the month of Shawwal will be fulfilled astronomically.

Abu Zahra said, however, sighting the Shawwal crescent with the naked eye or monitoring devices is not possible except through a CCD camera due to its scant illumination, its presence in the glow of the setting sun, and its short duration of stay above the horizon.

He noted that on Friday, April 21, the sun will set from the horizon of Makkah at 06:43 p.m., and the moon will be above the horizon at an altitude of 16 degrees, and the elongation or the angle that separates it from the sun is 17 degrees, and its illumination is 2.4 percent.

It will be very easy to see with the naked eye if the sky is clear, and it will set at 08:05 in the evening, one hour and 22 minutes after sunset.
