Sopore Encounter: Civilian Injured, Shifted to Hospital, Stable
A civilian was injured in an ongoing encounter in Nowpora area of North Kashmir's Sopore.
A top police officer told that during exchange of fire between security forces and militants one civilian identified as Farooq Ahmad Dar was injured due to a stray bullet.
He has recieved bullet wound in his right shoulder and is currently being treated in near by Hospital. His condition is said to be stable, the officer added.
As this report was being filed, there was no confirmation from the officials regarding the death of any militant so far.

Brick-kiln owner dies after wall of loose bricks collapsed in Budgam
A brick-kiln owner died after he came under a wall of loose bricks at his brick kiln in Narwara village of Beerwarh division of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
The deceased has been identified as 30-year-old Bilal Ahmed Khan, a resident of Gondipora Beerwah
One of the close friends of the victims told the news agency Kashmir News Trust that a huge wall of loose bricks collapsed suddenly near the brick kiln and the owner got buried under the bricks.
He received grievous injuries and died in the hospital.
Police have taken cognizance of the incident and registered a case under relevant sections of law.

Properties of 4 Terrorist Handlers Operating from Pakistan Attached in Handwara: Police
Jammu and Kashmir Police attached properties of four terrorist handlers in Handwara operating from Pakistan, a police spokesperson said.
“Acting tough against the wanted local terrorists based in Pakistan, Jammu and Kashmir Police has launched a special drive against the absconders/ wanted terrorists and as part of this drive properties of 04 terrorist handlers who were declared as proclaimed offenders by the orders of Hon’ble Court was attached on the orders of Hon’ble Court, by Police District Handwara,” reads a statement issued to news agency Kashmir Scroll.
“These absconders/proclaimed offenders have exfiltrated to Pakistan or Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) in 1990s or in first after 2000 and are presntly in the Pakistan or PoK. Since then, they are continuously involved in handling terrorists and reviving and spreading terrorism in Handwara and other areas of Jammu and Kashmir.”
“Following the prescribed procedure (1)land measuring ten (10) Marlas at Kralgund belonging to proclaimed offender Mumtaz Ahmad Khwaja Son of Mohammad Subhan Khwaja resident of Kralgund,(2) land measuring 16-3/4 Marlas belonging to Lateef Ahmad Bhat Son of Abdul Rehman Bhat Resident of Badra Payeen,(3) land measuring 01 Kanal and 2 Marlas at Ashipora belonging to Mushtaq Ahmad Mir Son of Mohammad Sultan Mir Resident of Ashpora and(4) land measuring 01 Kanal at Khaipora belonging to Ghulam Nabi Ganai son of Ghulam Rasool Ganai resident of Khaipora, Qaziabad was attached by Police District Handwara on the orders of the Hon'ble Court,” reads the statement.
“These terrorists are also involved in different cases of Police District Handwara and are actively trying to revive and run the terror ecosystem in Jammu and Kashmir,” reads the statement.
“Besides these four, 51 persons of Jammu and Kashmir nationals who have exfiltrated to Pakistan/Pak Occupied Kashmir for illegal arms training and are operating from there have also been declared as Proclaimed offenders by the Hon'ble Court.The action is also being contemplated against them under law,” the statement reads further.

Srinagar 25 Apr : Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) senior leader and a prominent Shia scholar Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi on Thursday filed his nomination papers for Srinagar Lok Sabha constituency in DC Office Complex, Srinagar.
As per the news agency , National Conference candidate for Srinagar LS seat, Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi, was accompanied with a number of party workers and supporters, who escorted their leader to DC Officer where he submitted his nomination papers in presence of the Returning Officer Dr Bilal Mohi-ud-Din Bhat.
Before filing his nomination papers, Ruhullah Mehdi, while talking to the media, ruled out competition from any political party and said that they (NC) are in the field for the mobilisation of J&K people’s sentiments.
“Our target is to translate the sentiments of people and create a political space where common masses can speak,” he said.
Replying to a query, the NC senior leader Ruhullah Mehdi said BJP has accepted they do not have field here but are contesting elections through their proxies, “who have acknowledged that they are at the saffron party’s disposal and are fighting polls for them.”
On the occasion, JKNC President Dr Farooq Abdullah and Vice President Omar Abdullah also visited the DC Office Srinagar to express their support for the party's candidate.
Among other candidates, who filed their nomination papers for Srinagar Lok Sabha constituency, included PDP’s Waheed ur Rehma Parra and Apni Party’s Mohammad Ashraf Mir.

Gunfight brokeout between militants and security forces in Nowpora area of North Kashmir's Sopore.
Reports reaching that a joint team of Police and army launched a cordon and search operation in Nowpora.
As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off a gunfight.
A senior police officer also confirmed to GNS about exchange of firing between militants and security forces.
5 Persons Injured in Tangdhar Road Mishap
Srinagar, Apr 25 (GNS): At least five persons have sustained injuries in a road mishap in Tangdhar area of Kupwara on Thursday afternoon.
Reports reaching that an accident occurred after a Maruti Suzuki (R+Z), bearing Registration Number JK09D 2865, skidded off the road, resulting in injuries to five persons.
All the injured persons were taken to SDH Tangdhar for immediate treatment.

Bandipora Encounter: Search operation continues for second day to track down terrorists
Police and security forces have continued search operation for second day in Renji forest area of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Thursday.
A top police officer told that on Wednesday a joint team of Police, Army’s 13RR and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in Renji forest area of Bandipora amid specific information about the presence of at least two & three terrorists.
As the joint team of forces approached the suspected spot, the hiding terrorists fired upon them, triggering off a gunfight.
He said that all exits points have been sealed and lights were installed to prevent terrorists from escaping.
He said that search operation continued throughout the night and it is going on Thursday as well.
He further added that helicopters and other services have been pressed into service to track down the terrorists while the escaping of terrorists can't be ruled out.

An elderly tourist from Mumbai died of a cardiac arrest in Gulmarg area of North Kashmir Baramulla district on Wednesday late night.
