Short term courses in cake decorating and sugar crafting
The first thing I have realised when I am learning something new, is I tend to skip all the other details and go straight to how the class is priced. Fair enough, it is my hard earned money and I do go and check out the fee structure before I even read through the details or what anyone else who has done the course has to say about it.
Every so often though I have invested in courses that were out of my scope. That made me stretch my comfort zone a bit. But I have come out of those courses with so much new knowledge in my arsenal that I have earned far more than I invested in those.
Figurine Maestros is one such course. Where normally you get 2 or 3 days to learn a course hands on from a teacher, where you go back and you can't remember anything of what you learned because it feels like such a blur. The first couple of days after your class is done you just want to rest or complete some other pending work. One week later you decide to go back to practice what you learned and you are at a dead end because you can't remember much.
This is where this figurine maestros is such a boon.
1. You don't have to travel to learn which takes care of your exhaustion and fatigue and keeps your mind sharp.
2. You have videos which you can access for lifetime. So watch and rewatch the videos as many times as you want!
3. Each of these videos are shot at an angle which is direct above the working area so you can see every step absolutely crystal clear.
4. You have assignments to complete each week, which keeps you accountable and allows me to give you guidance for how you can improve

🌸Did you know that this Whipped Cream cake uses a painting technique originating in the late 19th century?
🌸The texture you see here is called Pointilism, a technique where small dots of color are applied in patterns to create an image. It was developed in 1886 by French artists Georges Seurat & Paul Signac as a branch from the Impressionist style.
🌸This technique has been adapted for Whipped Cream to give you the above result! Isnt it beautiful?

When I made this cake in Indore:
☆ I didn't have my big stand mixer
☆ I didn't have temperature controlled room
☆ I was working in a spare rooms in our Indore house where there was no fridge, and a borrowed microwave from my sister-in-law
☆ And none of my favorite tools

So what exactly is so special about the Paithani saree? Let's find out!
The name Paithani comes from the town of Paithan, which was once the capital of the ancient Satavahana dynasty that ruled the Deccan region between 2nd century BC to 2nd century CE. This was a hub of textiles and crafts as well as imports from foreign lands. As the centuries went by, these special sarees saw a revival and royal patronage from the Peshwas, who developed the town of Yeola in Nashik as a hub for Paithani weavers & craftsmen.
The saree has some quintessential Maharashtrian motifs like the peacock & mango shape (koyri) along with some traditional color combinations. It is an indelible part of the Maharashtrian cultural identity, and my way of paying homage to my roots!
I will be teaching you how to create and decorate a cake that looks exactly like this saree, in my upcoming workshop -"Hyper-Realistic Paithani Cake". I will also be teaching how to craft traditional Maharashtrian jewelry out of fondant.
