My Honest Feedback and Review.

It's been over two months since I started using this Ostomy Air Vent by .ostomy It is a Button which helps me empty my gas without opening my ostomy bag.

Initially, when I saw this, I was shocked. My first reaction was OMG, this works...!!!

I always travel to other places and love food, so my ostomy bag will always get ballooning, and that struggle is real.

It makes me sometimes very anxious about leakage, and I have to rush home to empty my ostomy bag, or I have to find a washroom near where I stay for work, and sometimes even I do have to avoid my fav food.

So I saw this video on their profile and they contacted me to try it.

Trust me, in Starting, When they gave me details about their product.

I was very excited about the product and simultaneously very nervous.

And my mind started being anxious again about what would happen if this won't work, and you have to rush home again.

But I thought, let's give it a try. Even in the worst scenario, I would have to change my bag immediately.

So I finally gave it a shot and ordered the sample.

Still I have many questions. I asked them, and they guided me very well and answered all my questions.

Voila, It worked, It worked.

You won't believe in my life for the first time. I don't now have to worry much about the gas or getting bag ballooning.

The Gum on the button is excellent. It won't get out easily, so you don't need to worry about anything.

I can eat my fav food without any worries. I don't have to rush home to empty the gas.

And I just called them again and Ordered More.

At the age of 60, my father was given a colorectal cancer diagnosis on July 27th, 2019. Despite knowing that he would need to have a colostomy for perhaps 5 to 6 months, we chose to proceed with the surgery. Sadly, we encountered a recurrence. We made the decision to proceed with the operation despite our regrets, knowing that there was a chance to permanently remove the colostomy. We have recurrence three times in less than two years, abandoning all hope of ever getting rid of the colostomy. It's not easy to have a colostomy, whether it's temporary or permanent.

After the initial procedure, we were instructed on how to replace the bag, how frequently to change it overall, safety procedures, and measures to take. At his age, it used to be very taxing to empty the pouch 10–12 times per day. Because he was afraid of emptying the bag, he would avoid travelling for longer periods of time away from home and would only spend a maximum of two to three hours away from home.

Due to the natural gas well being channelled to the pouch in colostomy and ileostomy cases, the pouch must be cleaned and emptied even if it is not full with faeces. We were trying to find something that would help him travel, work, and not have to worry about emptying the pouch. My dad would constantly tell us that we needed to find a solution, like a button we could attach to the bag to let the air out of the pouch. At that time, the concept of the Ostomy Air Vent first came to us.

With its two-way locking system, it is simple to operate and much safer and superior. With the help of the finger lift, you may quickly remove the adhesive from the OAV, set it on the bag, and then use a sterile pin/needle or a clean toothpick to make a small hole in the top layer of the bag through the button that will allow air to escape. The OVA is equipped for use.

My dad uses the OVA, and depending on the output, he needs to empty the pouch about 5–6 times per day.
