Dr. Bhogilal Sandesara, was born in Patan.There is “ સાંડેસરાનો માઢ”( માઢ=પોળ) in Patan, where they had a house for generations, which was eventually sold. Prof. Sandesara was greatly influenced by Jain sadhus when he was in high school. He researched and wrote extensively about Solanki yug, Vastupal- Tejpal, Hemchandracharya etc. starting in high school years and throughout his career after that.
One of his books, he wrote as a high school student, was prescribed as a textbook when he was a M.A. student in Gujarat University! He had to study the book written by himself!!
Such was the Global Garvo Gujarati whom I had fortune to meet and talk and read books in his Library as he happened to be the father of my dear classmate Dr Kalyan Sandesara, Paediatrician at USA.
Can you find a school, College or University globally where the TEXTBOOK is written by the STUDENT who has to study it? and teachers teach that to HIM?
So rare is the occurance that by today's standards, he would have qualified for Guiness Book of World Records!
