Change in timing of semester exams from June 3 to June 30, due to extreme weather conditions. Exams in morning shift will be conducted from 08.00 am to 11.00 am while the evening shift exams will take place from 03.00 pm to 06.00 pm.

has constituted a committee chaired by a former Director of AIIMS, New Delhi, to review bed allocation in BHU’s hospital system so as to optimise the resources for best patient care. The panel has been requested to make its recommendations within 15 days. The decision is taken as part of ’s persistent efforts to maximise the facilities for medical research, academics & patient care. The committee will consider NMC guidelines, best practices in other premier medical institutions, manpower and infrastructure & patient load and make its recommendations.

Prof. Kaushalendra Kumar Singh and Mr. Sanjiv Singh from the Department of Statistics, Institute Of Science, presented their work on the subject of Family Planning at the Population Association of Singapore 2024 Annual Meeting. The study "Determinants of Husband’s Engagement in Family Planning as Partner: Evidence from a District-Level Study in UP," highlights how joint effect of positive attitude and media exposure made significant contribution in determining husbands’ involvement in family planning. The study is a baseline study and will help policy makers in assessing effects of on-going policies regarding family planning in future.

Dr. Prajjval Pratap Singh, Research Scientist in the Department of Zoology, Institute of Science, has been awarded the esteemed Dr. M K Bhan Young Researcher Fellowship by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India. The fellowship aims to inspire and support young and talented researchers in advancing their careers and promoting high-level research in the country post-PhD. The fellowship is specifically intended for research that addresses issues of national relevance. Over the course of 3 years, Dr. Singh will conduct research on ancient DNA of the Ganga Valley at the Center for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics (CDFD) in Hyderabad.

Achieving another milestone, doctors at the Institute of Medical Sciences, , have performed a successful kidney transplant. This is the first such procedure in more than a decade in the institute and marks a new chapter in terms of expanding medical facilities at . The procedure was performed by a team of doctors from the Department of Urology, led by Prof Sameer Trivedi & comprising Dr Ujwal Kumar and Dr Yashasvi Singh. The preparation for the kidney transplant was made under the expert supervision of Dr. Shivendra Singh, HoD, Nephrology. The development is a result of BHU's constant endeavors under the leadership of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sudhir Kumar Jain. The university has been making efforts to upgrade and advance medical facilities and infrastructure in order to better cater to the needs of people.
