Today, we've Dr. Kavita and Dr. Ashish Satav, a couple on a mission to serve the last tribal of Melghat with complete dedication, started MAHAN in 1997 with the aim of providing preventive & curative medical facilities & improving the quality of life of tribals. Different healthcare projects, dedicated scientific efforts, service, research, advocacy & PIL by the MAHAN team resulted in substantial improvements in the life of tribals. The couple believes in the philosophy “youths should serve the villages as real India lives in villages” and has won various awards like REAL Award by 'Save The Children', UK; 'Public Health Champion' award by WHO for the pioneering contribution in health care of the tribal area.
