Since ACI-AUIS Chapter has been founded, Ahmed has been a hardworking president and member. He has done many remarkable works for the chapter.

On April 1, 2024, ACI-AUIS student chapter was delighted to host a seminar by Dr. Mustafa Alattar about remote sensing applications in engineering. 🛰️🌦️

Dr. Mustafa mentioned the remote sensing’s advantage in engineering and its definition. 🌍

The crucial part of this tool is that it manipulates the sun radiation and it gets scattered to the sensors then it gets analyzed and are eventually processed to images.☀️🗾

A workshop presented by two of AUIS faculty Dr. Ahmed Salih and Dr. Aram Hassan titled by “Concrete Sensing and UHPPFRC” and sponsored by ACI Kurdistan Chapter, ACI AUIS Student Chapter, and ACI UOS Student Chapter at the University of Sulaymaniyah College of Engineering. It was a great opportunity for students to get knowledge about the latest developments in concrete technology in both topics “Enhancing and evaluating the sensitivity, piezoelectricity and mechanical behavior of concrete using synthetic nanomaterials,” by Dr. Ahmed Salih, and “Properties of ultra-high-performance fiber reinforced concrete and their applications” by Dr. Aram Hassan.
We thank ACI Kurdistan Chapter and ACI UOS Student Chapter for such an amazing and beneficial collaboration and we aspire to work more together in future.

ACI-AUIS Student Chapter, arranged a trip to Mayorca City in September 30 2023.

The purpose of the tour was to learn more about the city's construction endeavours. 29 students of civil engineering participated in the trip.

The engineers discussed how they construct apartments as well as the exterior and interior of homes and apartments. the highways as well.


They learnt how to construct columns how deep to dig the foundations, and how to insert steel into columns, among other things. They explained how they make the floors and stairs as stable as possible, and at the end the roof of the building. For engineers and construction workers, safety is also important. Also discussed were the roads, including the preferred soil to utilise and the method for applying the asphalt on them.

A talented educator, he was a Teaching Assistant at the University of Houston. Now, he is an assistant professor in American University of Iraq, Sulimani (AUIS) and Sulimani University.

ACI-AUIS Student Chapter and AUIS SPE Student Chapter collaboratively, arranged a trip to Darbandikhan Dam hydroelectric plant on Saturday May 13th, 2023.

The aim of the trip was to learn about the dam and its importance. The trip included Civil, mechanical and energy engineering students of all levels along with Dr.Ali Alwaeli, Dr. Mashhoor Ismail and Dr. Mustafa Alattar.

The professors talked about different engineering aspects of the dam.The students went outside and inside the station. They learnt about how water turbines convert kinetic energy of the flowing water into mechanical energy. They were also taken to the control rooms and saw the advanced programs that is used to track the upstream and downstream of the dam.

We're thrilled to have hosted the 2nd International Workshop organized by ACI Kurdistan Chapter and monitored by our ACI-AUIS Student Chapter, where around 30 students and instructors attended. Attendees received certificates from ACI Kurdistan Chapter for their participation. We learned about the latest innovations and solutions to make concrete production more sustainable and reduce carbon emissions from industry experts. It was an engaging and thought-provoking discussion, and we look forward to future opportunities to connect and learn.

Yesterday, ACI-AUIS student chapter was delighted to host a seminar by Dr. Mashhoor about lab safety. 🥼🥽
Dr. Mashoor mentioned the safety rules and all the crucial tools and materials one need to wear to protect themselves from danger and hazard. ⚠️☣️☢️
Students from different majors such as engineering and Medical laboratory science attended the seminar. 🧑‍🔧👩‍🔬

The engineering department of AUIS with Payam Jalil, the secretary of ACI- AUIS student chapter, hosted the spaghetti bridge competition at auis. 🌉🍝
The groups had to use only glue and spaghetti to make the bridge. Load was added to the bridge until it failed.
The Brianiancs were the first winners of the competition🥇, their bridge weighed 1.0 kg and held 69 Kg load.
The Schmetterling were the second winners🥈, their bridge weighed 1.3 kg and held 70 kg load.
Also, savant builders were the winner of the aesthetic design of the bridge.🏅
