The warm autumn light catched by the talented
Autumn is especially magical in Puglia because of the changing colours that you see as you drive through vineyards or walk-through olive groves. the sunsets have a hint of gold and orange, and the nights are chilly enough for a sweater. Enjoying the warm sea and preparing for colder days ahead 🍇🔥
This is one of our favorite seasons here 🫶🏽

The cure for anything is salt water: sweat, tears or the sea, bye bye dear Bo ❤️❤️❤️

B&B Yours Trulli Een trullo beleving in Puglia
A trullo can only be handled by a good master trullaro. This ancient profession transmitted itself from father to son, until it slowly dissolved. Today finding a good trullaro isn’t that easy but not impossible thanks to a new generation young people who are rediscovering the ancient crafts.

Ciaoooo,
We want to say that it is heartbreaking to see the Nothern regions of Italy fighting agains the water at the moment. Also Puglia had a very wet springtime unfortunately, but that was nothing compared to the rainfall in Emilia-Romagna. We feel a little ashamed because we also complained about the recent rainfall around here.
But thanks to this rain the valley “Valle d’Itria is still very green and filled with wild flowers so actually we should be happy with rainfall around our trullo at the moment 🌞
Let’s hope we find solutions to slowdown or stop climate change and that we are all aware about the dangers climate with more rain coming, but falling on fewer days, can do to us..
Puglia (poooo- lia sound better than Poeklia) )is the region in the heel of Italy’s boot, also called by it’s name Apulia is preparing itself for a long summer to come 🌞
With its distinctive food, architecture and atmosphere, the area looks and feels completely different to the rest of the country. Not unlike a Greek island, the sun-soaked landscape is blanketed in ancient olive groves that roll from the Itria Valley all the way down to the shimmering Adriatic Sea. There are so many reasons to explore this Mediterranean paradise. Forza Italia
❤️

Because we want you to experience Puglia at the finest, that’s why we put a lot of effort in exploring the best beaches along the stretch 😉😘
For example this protected beach Torre Guaceto, Brindisi
A protected marine area and nature reserve, the sandy beach at Torre Guaceto stretches over several kilometres and is overlooked by a 16th century watchtower. Torre Guaceto is a wonderful area to walk, explore and experience nature. There is even a marine reserve for turtles 🐢
Park up and either walk to the beach or catch the little tourist train that goes regularly between the car park and the sand. That’s it for today, at your service ✌🏼
xx Jeroen and Nicole
The golden age of trulli was the nineteenth century, especially its final decades, which were marked by the development of wine growing. Our 4 bedroom trullo was also part of a wineproperty.
Unfortunately some decades ago the proctuction of wine contained mostly bulk wine and the prices where incredibly low that it was cheaper to sell your vines. A lot of wineries got abandoned in the 70s. You have to consider that probably 90% or 100% of the wine in bulk produced in Puglia was produced by big cooperatives.
Around the 80s things changed and people start to produce quality wines.
the private family wineries started at the beginning of the 80s to produce the bottled wine.
Nowadays however, Puglia’s winemakers are striving to elevate its reputation as a signficant wine region.
Before, I always used to complain that the days passed by too quickly. Full days, full agenda, running around like crazy 🙃
Nowadays I know that everything worth doing is worth doing slowly, so cut things out until you're left with only what you love, with what's necessary, with what makes you happy. Sounds easy right, you just have to try it ❤️
On holiday to Puglia during the Holy Week
It’s a great time to explore Puglia around Easter. The Italians mark the most important religious holiday – the Pasqua – with week-long celebrations, with rites beginning on Palm Sunday and ending on Easter Sunday 🐇🕊️
The most famous rites take place in Taranto and Martina Franca is part of the province Taranto so it’s just a short drive.
Dressed in white robes and fully hooded, the members of the procession in Taranto will walk barefoot around the city until dawn.
With its stunning nature and number of picturesque towns, Puglia province provides one of the most authentic experiences of the traditional Easter celebrations.
So book your flights, sort out your accommodation and head to Puglia for a truly authentic and exciting Easter break. And catch some sun in the meantime, the spring has arrived 🌞
Buona Pasqua xx

Food and Italy are practically synonymous:)
In Italian culture, lunch (Pranzo) is often considered as the most important meal of the day and is, if complete, composed of four courses, namely a first course (Primo), usually a dish based on pasta.
A second course (Secondo), based on meat, fish, dairy products such as cheese, or eggs (served in various ways, such as in a frittata, in a pan, boiled, or scrambled)
And a side dish of raw or cooked vegetables, which accompanies the second dish.
The second course and the side dish are always accompanied by bread. And don’t forget the wine. In Puglia you for example find the Primitivo, Negroamaro or Verdeca and Fiano,
And the main ingredient for a great pranzo is good company of course, lucky us 😘❤️
The details are not the details💙

During the winter months, you can enjoy Puglia on a very “zen” way.
Imagine yourself walking between the ancient brick houses in Alberobello without the big crowds. The winter is for sure a quiet season to visit Puglia so make sure you make the most of it 💪 If you decide to spend some days in Puglia during winter you will have the opportunity to experience the amazing and tasty Pugliese food even better. And together with the food, the Puglia region is well known for it’s local wine the Primitivo, a great lunch will be garantueed. Saluti and enjoy 🌞

In the Southern region of Puglia you find that typical mysterious building the trullo with it’s conical ceilings. A night in a trullo is a great experience.
A drywall construction, made with a prehistoric building technique which is still in use in this region. The trulli are made of roughly worked limestone boulders collected from neighbouring fields. We were flabbergasted the first time we entered a trullo here in the Valle d’Itria but we could find this construction even closer to our hometown Maastricht. It’s only other place in Europe to have trulli is the Rhineland in Germany. Some migrant workers from Puglia built a few while working in the vineyards there! Trulli a home away from home.... We can’t imagine a trullo in Maastricht, but maybe it could be a quick solution for the tight housing market in Holland 😉
Ceramics by Els. Unfortunately these pieces are part of our private collection but if you are interested in ceramics you should visit Grottaglie a town located a little South of Martina Franca. Grottaglie got it’s name from large grottoes, nowadays it is the ceramics capital of Puglia. What makes the Grottaglie ceramics so unique is that they are made from locally extracted clay. From the medieval times to today, the town’s potters continue to produce plates, vases and pots in enormous quantities.
che festa in Puglia🍾
Maybe you didn’t know what keeps us here 😉
