The WHO European Regional Office today hosted a strategic workshop advancing the implementation of Artificial Intelligence in healthcare systems across the region 🌍🤖. This high-level meeting brought together key stakeholders to address crucial aspects of digital health transformation, including regulatory frameworks 📜, workforce development 👩‍⚕️👨‍⚕️, and ethical implementation guidelines 🛡️.

The Strategic Partnership Initiative for Digital Health was highlighted as a critical mechanism for ensuring responsible innovation while maintaining healthcare accessibility and quality 🏥✨.

This development represents a crucial step in implementing the World Health Assembly's social participation resolution at the regional level.
Notable elements include structured youth engagement protocols and enhanced disability inclusion mechanisms, supported by systematic evaluation frameworks.

✨ The 13th Congress of the Algerian Society of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine took place in Algiers, Algeria, from October 25-27, 2024! ✨

At the WHO SEARO RC 77 meeting today, 🌍 ISPRM member Dr. Raju Dhakal made the following statement, endorsed by ISPRM and the World Rehabilitation Alliance:

👏 "We applaud the progress on health workforce education in the WHO South-East Asia Region and its emphasis on Universal Health Coverage (UHC). However, to truly achieve UHC, future initiatives must include all rehabilitation professionals—not just doctors, nurses, and midwives. With 1 in 3 people globally in need of rehabilitation, especially in low- and middle-income countries, the demand is only growing.

💪 Rehabilitation is essential for improving independence and function throughout the life course. We urge SEARO/WHO Member States to invest in rehabilitation education and training to ensure equitable access to quality services for all."

Prof. Matthew N. Bartels represented ISPRM at the United Nations "Summit of the Future" in New York this weekend. 🌍 Rehabilitation medicine for an aging global population will be crucial in achieving long and healthy lives for everyone. 💪👵👴
