Born in 2015 from the extraordinary experience of Giorgetto e Fabrizio Giugiaro
GFG Style was born in 2015 from the extraordinary experience in the field of car design of its founders, Giorgetto and Fabrizio Giugiaro. Giorgetto is known all over the world as one of the most successful designers in automotive history. Fabrizio has been active in car design, industrial design and the planning and development of car interiors and exteriors for public and private clientsfor over
Thousands of visitors, an audience moved by an overflowing passion, dozens of events... We can only be happy that the Auto Show held in “our” Turin achieves success and recognition.
It was an honor for GFG Style to be part of the 41 automotive companies that exhibited their models, in a journey that combined the history of motoring with the most recent innovations in the sector, ranging from the latest sports cars to sustainable mobility.
Fabrizio Giugiaro personally spent time during all the weekend driving the cars in the parades and meeting with institutions, enthusiasts and the media to talk about the models on display and the new projects GFG Style is working on. Giorgetto also wanted to participate in the event, and on Sunday he met with the public and talked with numerous professionals, such as rally driver Miki Biasion.
It was held this weekend the first edition of the Concours Croatia , a competition of elegance in the charming location of the Boutique Hotel Alhambra, on the island of Lošinj. GFG Style was a guest at the event, and chose to tell its story through two cars that well represent the journey of Fabrizio Giugiaro, founder of the style center together with his father Giorgetto: the 1991 BMW Nazca M12 and the Vision 2030 Desert Raid, one of GFG Style's most recent projects.
Fabrizio Giugiaro gave a speech in which he outlined his professional history and the principles that guide his design style, with a particular focus on sports cars. On Saturday he also paraded behind the wheel of the BMW Nazca M12, along with all the sports and classic cars in attendance.
The design of the Atrax comes from Fabrizio Giugiaro’s long design experience, and from a new area that he created as early as 10 years ago. As it often happens in his vision of the future, in addition to design, the designer tries to introduce new types of cars such as, in this case, the Hyper SUV.
Only today many car manufacturers are introducing this typology to the market, but in the case of Laffite Automobili GFG Style has gone further, both in terms of design and use. Atrax is proposed as a sporty SUV with an outstanding and extreme shape with significant volumes and generous interior space, allowing a 2+1-seater architecture, which is a real surprise!

When Hyundai Motor was still in its early days of vehicle production, the company’s executives contacted Giorgetto Giugiaro to propose work on designing Hyundai’s first independent model and Korea’s first mass-produced car. At the time, there was no vehicle design and styling capability in Korea, so Hyundai Motor commissioned Giugiaro to design, make blueprints and build five prototypes, one of which was a coupe. In the process of designing and prototyping, Hyundai decided to show the Pony and Pony Coupé at the 1974 Turin Motor Show to promote the brand’s debut in the global market.
The original Pony and Pony Coupe Concept were one of those rare creations that influenced the designs of not just one but multiple production and concept vehicles from Hyundai to the present day, and that is why, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of these models, it was decided to reconstruct the prototype, which was lost, of the Coupé and make a fully operating version of it.

As much as the GFG Dora attracts attention mainly for its exterior appearance, dynamic flowing lines and structural pillars that starting from the bonnet flow into the spoiler, the whole design of this barchetta sports car revolves around the space that accommodates the driver and passenger, allowing both to enjoy maximum comfort but also a very high level of safety.
Proof of this is the structural element that divides and demarcates the area of the driver from the passenger, a structural bridge, a raised through tunnel. The driving position is adjusted by moving the steering column and pedal set whose controls are on the central tunnel.

The Barchetta project is the most complex in all respects among those made by Fabrizio Giugiaro for Laffite's new automotive brand. The Barchetta comes with two strong distinctive features: two separate seats with two individual windshields and the Formula 1-derived halo, definitely unusual for an open and homologated car, which guarantees maximum safety.
The choice of a double dome takes its cue from a Giorgetto Giugiaro’s idea from 1959, later revived in the Aztec prototype from 1988. The double cockpit topped by the large Halo-like structure determines the real design innovation.

We celebrate Giorgetto Giugiaro's 86th birthday today! What is the magic formula of the car designer of the century to still be so active? Always giving himself new goals, and allowing his desires to have free rein and to materialize.
A 360-degree creativity that in recent years has focused on drawing and painting, youthful passions that were never dormant and that are now finally regaining their own space, as shown by the canvases realized for the church of San Giovanni Battista in Garessio.
One of Giorgetto Giugiaro's earliest hand-drawn sketches for the GFG Sibylla. The "car designer of the century" received an artistic and professional training that dates back to the twentieth century, to a time before the computer age, and he still continues to visualize his ideas first on paper, although he has since experimented with all the possibilities of digital.
Already from these studies, however, it is possible to understand what the main features of the sedan will be, such as the truncated back and the dome that opens by sliding forward horizontally. The double view, in profile and from above, also makes it possible to assess at a glance what the main volumes and lines of the vehicle will be.
The GFG Vision 2030, the Hyper SUV designed by Fabrizio Giugiaro, was the first full-electric vehicle to take part in the 1000 Miglia, one of the most famous car races in the world, in October 2020. The GFG Vision 2030 then also took part to the next edition, while this year it was the turn of the GFG Kangaroo, which covered the more than 1800 kilometers that make up the stage race.
GFG Style has made the creation of traveling prototypes an important feature, because it is only the road test that allows the success of a project to be fully evaluated. And when it comes to races that require a certain talent and driving experience, Fabrizio himself always leads them.
An important aspect of Fabrizio Giugiaro's stylistic research has always been the study of the openings of the vehicles he has designed: going beyond the classic front opening to suggest new ways of accessing the vehicle, both to increase comfort and to improve the driving experience.
An example of this research can already be identified in the 1991 BMW Nazca M12, the first project for which Fabrizio was totally responsible: the doors of the supercar open normally, but it is possible, even with the door closed, to open the canopy with the gull wing effect. A design solution that has also been proposed in other more recent vehicles, indicating its relevance, such as the 2020 GFG Vision 2030.
Techrules REN is the first major project undertaken by GFG Style, the advanced style center founded by Giorgetto and Fabrizio Giugiaro in 2015: the prototype of an electric sports car with two fuel turbines to recharge the batteries.
The creative challenge consisted in giving the refined carbon fiber frame a dress capable of communicating the break with conventions and, at the same time, respecting the technical and functional briefing, starting from ergonomics.
What is striking is how, despite a balance of absolute contemporaneity, the Ren supercar profoundly echoes the canons that have always animated the designs of Giorgetto and Fabrizio Giugiaro: the cleanliness of the surfaces, the unitary shape, the taste for roofs treated like flashy caps (like the Aztec of 1988, but also the Nazca of 1991). The family sign does not fade and continues to express itself with incessant energy.
GFG Kangaroo, fresh from its participation in the Mille Miglia, whose entire race track it covered, was the guest yesterday, Wednesday, July 3, at "TEOS - The elegance of sustainability," in the elegant setting of Casina Valadier in Bucarest Square, Rome.
The event, organized by Quattroruote, aimed to enhance values and domains that gravitate around the concept of "sustainability" by exalting design criteria in the broadest meanings: solutions, materials and power sources, industrial circular economies, products and services suited to the context of use, with the purpose of providing ideas so that this path of transformation is concrete and feasible.
Fabrizio Giugiaro, designer of the Kangaroo and also the driver of the Hyper SUV throughout the 1000 Miglia, in addition to reporting on his recent experience behind the wheel, given his expertise in both car design and architecture, explored in his talk the evolution of urban planning with the advent of electric, with mention of A2A charging stations.
All the townspeople and many curious people and enthusiasts from all over the region congratulated Giorgetto Giugiaro on the new work of art that will henceforth adorn the church of San Giovanni Battista in Garessio. The baptism of Jesus Christ complements the triptych of paintings representing scenes inspired by the Holy Representation of the Mortuary that already connote the walls of the consecrated place and were created by Giugiaro over the past few years.
For the presentation on Saturday, June 22, three cars that symbolize the different phases and design directions of Giorgetto Giugiaro's career - the 1962 Alfa Romeo 2600, the 1998 Giugiaro Structura and the 2019 GFG Kangaroo - were also chosen to be displayed in the square in front of the church, showing how the talent of the man who was awarded the title of "Car designer of the century" remains active and eclectic, always looking for new ways to express itself.

Not everyone knows Giorgetto Giugiaro's passion for painting. Circumstances led him toward industrial design, giving him a lasting career full of success and recognition, but his love for drawing and pure painting has always remained alive, so much so that it has been carried on in parallel with his work. Today, the design activity is entrusted mainly to his son Fabrizio, and Giorgetto, while continuing to do consulting work, has managed to find time to devote himself to his lifelong passion, without any ambition to venture into the world of art, but simply with the desire to paint and illustrate events that refer to Garessio, the town in the province of Cuneo where he was born.
The most recent realization of this desire are the large canvases that adorn the church consecrated to St. John the Baptist. The latest large work created by Giugiaro that will be exhibited and presented publicly for the first time on June 22, after those dedicated to the Medieval Sacred Representation of the Mortuary, has as its subject the baptism of Jesus, and is a heartfelt tribute to the church that houses it along with the others. At the same time as the unveiling of the canvas in the square in front of the church, three historical prototypes that mark the personal, professional and entrepreneurial history of Giorgetto and Fabrizio Giugiaro will be displayed: the 1962 Alfa Romeo 2600, the 1998 Giugiaro Structura and the 2019 GFG Kangaroo.
The 2024 edition of the Mille Miglia Green, the event of the famous car race dedicated to cars with alternative power supplies, ended on Saturday, June 15.
Fabrizio Giugiaro drove the Kangaroo, which he designed and presented in 2019 under the GFG Style brand, throughout the more than 1,800-kilometer route, divided into five stages, that took the competing cars around Italy in a loop that started in Brescia and extended to Rome. At his side as navigator was Alessio Frassinetti of Quattroruote, who documented the adventure on social media.
A partnership, the one between Fabrizio Giugiaro and the Mille Miglia, confirmed to be successful, and that aims to make people discover the possibilities of electric even in contexts that require very high-performance cars, in terms of speed and autonomy: it is no coincidence that Giugiaro is a pioneer in the field of Hyper SUVs, full-electric vehicles that combine style, research and high performance on any type of terrain.

Today new stage with departure from Rome and arrival in Solomeo, in the province of Perugia. With very few hours of sleep, this beautiful adventure continues by tackling all the sports tests along the track dedicated to alternative fuel cars with Fabrizio Giugiaro, designer and creative soul of GFG Style, at the wheel, accompanied by Alessio Frassinetti of Quattroruote.

It starts today and ends on Saturday, June 15, the new edition of the 1000 Miglia, the most famous vintage car race in the world that, in addition to celebrating the history of motoring, always looks to the future. A mission confirmed thanks to the presence of Fabrizio Giugiaro, who has directed his career in car design to constant research and innovation not only in shapes and aesthetics but also in alternative power supplies, among which electric stands out.
A binomial, that between 1000 Miglia and the designer, which has had its consecration in the Mille Miglia Green: a parallel event that focuses on the theme of sustainable mobility with particular attention to the implications it determines on the Italian automotive, energy and infrastructure supply chain.
After participating in 2020, an edition that saw for the first time an alternative-fueled car, the GFG Vision 2030, tracing the route of the historic Freccia Rossa race in a privileged position at the opening of the race, GFG Style returns this year with the Kangaroo, a full-electric Hyper SUV that will face all the tests placed on the race track, driven by Fabrizio Giugiaro himself and assisted by Alessio Frassinetti of Quattroruote.
Rare but not impossible to see all the latest GFG Style branded prototypes together. Far rarer, indeed unique, to see them together on the track! Leading the way is the Dora sports car and the Sibyilla luxury sedan, while at the rear we see the Vision 2030 and the Kangaroo.
All 4 models are powered exclusively by electricity and can achieve world-class speed and acceleration performance. They are certainly not designed for the track, but they are capable of achieving great results in very different contexts and terrains.
The evening light, when the sunset begins, enhances the colors and materials from which the GFG Vision 2030 is made. This Hyper SUV makes an impression thanks to the careful study of the materials of which it is composed: the windshield is characterized by a mirror effect achieved with a special treatment, the structure of the central body is made of carbon, while the rest of the car is of anodized aluminium.
The choice of the bodywork colours is a fundamental reference to Saudi Arabia: this supercar is, indeed, completely inspired by the “Vision 2030” project that the Arab State is pursuing, with the aim of radically accelerating the country’s green transformation.
The BMW M1, the iconic model designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro, took part in the Prelude Tour, the car route organized by BMW Group Classic that leads a selection of owners of vintage examples of the German car manufacturer from Lake Maggiore to Lake Como. The tour precedes the events that, as every year, are held over the weekend at the Concorso d'eleganza Villa d'Este.
The M1, with its bold styling and unmistakable red color, attracted the attentions of all participants. A sign of how contemporary this model still looks and was a reference for all the subsequent BMW series up to the present day.
The GFG Sibylla, designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro, with a name that pays homage to both the ancient mythological figure and Giorgetto's mother, has been created in two different versions, identifiable by color.
The first, in a darker color, presented in March 2018 at the Geneva International Motor Show, in keeping with Giugiaro's established tradition, was developed with Envision, a leader in smart energy management. The vehicle uses Envision's EnOS™ energy IoT platform to integrate with its surrounding energy infrastructure, allowing the car to become intelligently integrated into the wider energy ecosystem. The second, in light gray, was unveiled later that year at the Paris Motor Show, and accompanies its name with the initials GG80: a gift the designer gave himself to celebrate his own 80th birthday.
Vehicle design is never an aseptic, isolated process. But it is the result of constant discussion with the customer, in an attempt to marry his or her requirements with the insights of those leading the project.
Until the time comes for the first official presentation, based on high-definition 3D modeling. A fundamental step to make the choices made in terms of volumes, lines and surfaces understood and shown in their practical application.
Last weekend the sixth edition of Valley Fest was held in Modena, an event that among exhibitions, parades, car and motorcycle rallies, and round tables, offers Italian motoring excellence to enthusiasts and the curious.
Fabrizio Giugiaro took part in the "Design & Heritage" talk on Friday, May 3, in which design and sustainable mobility were discussed. The topics were then taken up, along with the development of citycars and Fabrizio’s great passion for engines, in the 360° interview conducted on Sunday, May 5, in Piazza Roma by Andrea Farina of Motor1.com Italia in front of the Lamborghini Gallardo, one of the designer’s favorite supercars among those made in his more than 30-year career.
The interview took up and expanded on some of the insights that emerged in the special "Nel garage di Giorgetto e Fabrizio Giugiaro” made by Motor1.com Italia and premiered last December on YouTube.
The front photo of the GFG Dora, designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro, nicely highlights the aesthetic concept behind the conception of this full-electric sports car, created as a tribute to the famous cars designed by Ilario Bandini in the 1950s: the structural pillars have the function of enclosing the volume dedicated to the driver and passenger, with a protective function like the halo in Formula 1 cars. At the same time, their shape creates a super minimal and elegant line, conveying an idea of speed and sportiness, and combines the front and back of the car into an organic whole.
In Giugiaro's approach, the care of the project, even in a concept car, cannot be limited to the body and the engine, but must expand to 360 degrees, taking care of every detail, to convey in the most accomplished way the spirit and values of the brand.
In the case of the Hyundai Pony Coupe, unveiled in 1974 and recently rebuilt to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the event, minimal, essential graphics were adopted for the instrumentation and dashboard, forgoing the classic dials equipped with hands and proposing gauges that oscillate along the vertical axis.
The more beautiful the view and the surroundings (and in the case of Villa Cantamerla, where GFG Style is based, we are talking about a stunning panorama, from which one overlooks Turin and has a view of the Alpine mountain range), the more one can appreciate the GFG Vision 2030.
This Hyper SUV captivates the eye thanks to the reflective materials the car body is made of. The windshield is characterized by a mirror effect achieved with a special treatment, the structure of the central body is made of carbon, while the rest of the car is of anodized aluminium.
The BMW Nazca M12 that peeps out behind Fabrizio and Giorgetto Giugiaro marks a symbolic transition between father and son: presented in 1991, it is the first concept car project to be followed entirely by Fabrizio within his father's company.
Growing up among Giorgetto's projects and models, from then on Fabrizio's professional activity would gain independence and public recognition, while maintaining a passionate and continuous creative dialogue with his father, which led in recent years to the birth of the advanced GFG Style center.
On Thursday, March 14, Fabrizio Giugiaro took part at Museo Nazionale dell'Automobile in the third meeting of the "Talk different" cycle: this specific event, under the title "Drawing the electric," explored the possibilities, difficulties, exploited and missed opportunities, perspectives and scenarios in the design of electric vehicles.
The program is part of the side events conceived during the exhibition “DRIVE DIFFERENT. From Austerity to the mobility of the future”, which can be visited until 7 April 2024.
GFG Style couldn't miss the VTM - Vehicle & Transportation Innovation Meeting: held today and tomorrow in Turin the fourth edition of the only international business convention in Italy dedicated to the future and innovation of automotive and transportation. A full program of conferences and events to discuss the most relevant and topical issues in the automotive industry: from artificial intelligence to alternative propulsion systems.
In the presence of Fabrizio Giugiaro, the Kangaroo, the first Hyper SUV produced after the birth of the new advanced style center, unveiled in 2019 and still a benchmark for the industry, was on display.
The 50th anniversary of BMW's M series was celebrated at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este. Also on display was the famous M1, designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro in response to a request from the German automaker, which wanted to produce a high-performance GT to compete in its class.
The design of the M1 took its cue from one of the most famous concept cars in BMW's history in turn, the Turbo, built for the 1972 Olympics: Lamborghini was given the task for the chassis, while Giugiaro defined lighter and less imaginative lines than those of the Turbo concept, but with great appeal, with pop-up front headlights and a sturdy one-piece rear hood that covered both the engine and the small luggage compartment immediately behind it.
Just over 400 examples were produced, making the M1 one of BMW's rarest and most sought-after models.
