Yervand Kochar
"The Woman with a Key"
1930

- 1923-36 In Paris, he created an art that placed his name among the greats who influenced the European Avant-Garde and the subsequent course of world fine art. Kochar is the founder of spatial painting /”Peinture dans l’espace”/. plastic — a new form of artistic expression that incorporates time as an additional fourth dimension. European artistic thought considered Kochar one of the pioneers of modern art, who in a few years transformed the ideas of modern painting and turned the world upside down…

In the early 2000s, Hockney began experimenting with digital art using an iPhone and later an iPad. He found it amusing that many traditionalists in the art world viewed digital creations as less legitimate than traditional paintings.

In a playful twist, he decided to embrace this technological medium in a way that would surprise everyone. Hockney famously created a series of digital paintings, including landscapes and portraits, using just his finger on the touchscreen. When asked about the significance of using such modern tools, he quipped that he was simply "drawing with a finger," much like how people used to doodle in the margins of their notebooks.

Moreover, Hockney took great delight in the idea that his digital creations could be instantly shared online, allowing people to see his art without stepping foot in a gallery. He humorously remarked that with digital art, he could create a piece in bed and share it with the world before even getting up!

Gerhard Richter’s creations blend nearly photographic visuals with an inclination towards abstraction, resulting in a distinct artistic style. The film "Never Look Away" directed by Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck, is inspired by the life of this talented artist.

Among Richter's notable pieces is "Cathedral Square, Milan", 1968. Interestingly, this artwork is an oil painting on canvas and falls under the photorealism movement.

Pablo Picasso
"The Kiss"
1966

- Incredible chaos. But vital. Picasso has always loved him. Perhaps he seemed to him richer in ideas than order.

It was his own system. Things found a place in the need to be there or here at the moment. The external order, on the contrary, carried something imposed in itself, it fettered the spirit.

Modern drawings on stones in 2024 are also equated with rock art, called Petroglyphs in the old way.

There are rock carvings that have been painted, engraved, or carved in relief. According to scientists, they initially performed ceremonial functions.

"BON DÉLIRE"

- Portrait of two dogs by the artist. With sunglasses and ci******es in their mouths, the haughty pose of these Weimaraners resembles the human heroes usually portrayed by the latter.

Many people ignore this, but the Chupa Chups logo was designed by artist Salvador Dali.

In 1969, the brand approached a Spanish artist with a proposal to design a new Chupa Chups logo, and the result became as recognizable as its famous melting clock. Dali included the name Chupa Chups in a brightly colored daisy shape.
To enhance the brand's influence, Dali even suggested placing the logo on the top of the ni**le, rather than on the side, so that it could still be seen intact.

Salvador Dalì
"Swans reflected in elephants"
1937

- Dali preferred to drive a Rolls Royce stuffed to the brim with cauliflower. He explained that he found a deep meaning in this vegetable. "Everything originates in the horn of the rhinoceros!" "Everything originates in La Dentellière de Vermeer!" "Everything ends with cauliflower! ".

Max Ernst
"Napoleon in the Wilderness"
1941

- The artist used the forest as a symbol of discovery, as well as as mysterious corners of the human mind.
Ernst once recalled how childhood excursions with his father to the great forests of the Rhineland near his home in Bruhl filled him with horror and ecstasy. This prompted him to begin in 1927 a series of richly written works exploring these sensations.
Fabulous images of birds and trees connect Ernst's paintings with the early German romantic tradition.

Egon Schiele
"Portrait of Wally Neuzil"
1912

- Serving in the army was quite easy for Schiele, he never participated in battles. The artist had the opportunity to paint when he was guarding Russian prisoners of war and on guard duty. By 1917, he was fully focused on his artistic career in Vienna. During this time, Schiele created many works and participated in the 49th Secession exhibition in the Austrian capital.

Giorgio de Chirico
"Metaphysical interior with cookies"
1916

- This "assemblage" is earlier, but it is interesting because de Chirico includes an element of reality in it – cookies. This technique would later be often used by the surrealists Salvador Dali and Rene Magritte. It is in their work that the reproduction of the world of dreams and hallucinations on canvases will become the main artistic principle.

Giorgio de Chirico
"Sketch of the cover of the souvenir program of Russian ballets"
1929

- The only problem with de Chirico was that after living a very long and vibrant life, he remained a prisoner of his "metaphysical" world of empty streets, destroyed statues and mannequins.

Norman Rockwell
"Boy Reading Adventure Story"
1923

- Norman Rockwell believed that any painting is much more than color and shape. In his opinion, the plot should always come first, the story that the artist wants to tell others. He was a very attentive draughtsman, he treated details with the greatest scrupulousness, trying to achieve such clarity of the image so that the world he created looked even more vivid and convincing.

Pablo Picasso
"The Woman in front of the Mirror"
1932

- The painting depicts the artist's secret lover Maria Theresa Walter. In 2011, the staff of the New York Museum of Modern Art used radiography to analyze the painting, which showed that Picasso originally depicted the girl in a more realistic style, with curved rounded hips, with her back to the viewer. He significantly changed the style, breaking her body into geometric shapes. Picasso himself said: "There is no abstract art. You always have to start somewhere." This comment may shed light on one of the artist's ways to transform the real world and give it a different meaning.

John Vassos
"Abstract Design"
1972

- Whose career as an American industrial designer and artist helped define the shape of radio, television, broadcasting equipment, and computers for the Radio Corporation of America for almost four decades. He is best known for both his art deco illustrated books and iconic turnstile for the Perey company, as well as modern radios, broadcast equipment, and televisions for RCA. He was a founder of the Industrial Designers Society of America, in 1965, serving as its first chairman simultaneously with Henry Dreyfuss as its president. Vassos' design philosophy was to make products that were functional for the user.

Carlos Sáenz de Tejada
"A color sketch of a card. Heraclius Fournier"
1953

- Tejada came from an old aristocratic Spanish noble family, firmly rooted in the province of Rioja Alaves, but lost its influence and social superiority with the onset of the crisis of the old regime. In this regard, Carlos had to focus on getting a profession. Carlos's father was a diplomat, so initially he was promised a career related to diplomacy, law and journalism.

Carlos Sáenz de Tejada
"Cover design for a Ladies' home magazine"

- In the period 1926-1935, with interruptions, Saenz de Tejada worked in Paris, collaborating with several magazines at once in contact with Chanel, Lanvin, Pakuyn and other fashion designers, and also created posters and theatrical decorations.
At that time, the image did not allow to convey the beauty and texture of fashionable products, and the artist's publications flourished. His stylized drawings of elegant, sophisticated women's clothing continue to influence modern fashion designers today.

Tamara de Lempicka
"Self-Portrait in the Green Bugatti"
1929

- Seductive, extravagant, glamorous, scandalous… What kind of epithets were not awarded to the artist Tamara de Lempicka. One of the most striking figures of the Art Deco era, this dandy woman is still surrounded by an aura of mystery. Many facts of her biography, be it the year of birth or even her real name, are not known for certain. Tamara liked to embellish reality, "throw off" a couple of years in conversations with journalists or introduce herself as her daughter's sister. She even painted the famous "Self-Portrait in a green Bugatti" while sitting in a small yellow Renault.

Tamara de Lempicka
"The Musician"
1929

- And yet, behind the image of an extravagant twirl, which Tamara willingly showed to the public, there was a woman with an iron character and enviable determination.
She was a real self-made woman who knew exactly what she wanted and always got it. Fame, money, love, a beautiful life — Tamara de Lempicka earned it all by herself, not counting on luck or outside help. How to succeed in a big city while maintaining independence and not changing yourself? Since you can't take the artist's word for it, let's look for the answer in her paintings.

Gustav Klimt
"Judith und Holofernes"
1901

- Klimt never painted self-portraits. He explained it this way: "I have never painted self-portraits. I am much less interested in myself as the subject of a painting than other people, especially women. There's nothing special about me. I am an artist who paints day after day from morning to night. Anyone who wants to know anything about me should carefully examine my paintings."
