The Pantheon Institute

This summer we were so excited to host Hofstra University and their amazing Communications program students studying international media, history, and its impact on current events and Italian culture. During the course, participant students created some incredible multimedia projects that investigated different aspects of Roman life and Italian heritage. One piece, titled Meaningful Beauty: Roman Architecture, written and produced by students Alexa Cervo, Lexmia Ozuna, Karoline Otavalo, Julianne Amante, Amanda Mechell, and Alex Suozzi, features our own Romolo Martemucci and his perspective on Roman architecture and its impact on social behaviors and cultural identity. It is with great sadness that we at the Pantheon Institute have to communicate the loss of our beloved professor of many years, and Architectural Design Studio Coordinator, Professor Architect David Sabatello. Professor Sabatello was involved in a tragic car accident that took his life on Sunday, August 14th, 2022.

David has been an exceptional professor of architectural design: “The best design professor of all my four years of study” said one Penn State architecture student just this past Spring semester. His Analysis and Links courses also were reviewed by students with glowing positive comments. Professor Sabatello’s courses are part of the reason Pantheon Institute was reviewed so positively by accreditation visiting teams, and administrators from the many prestigious institutions that partner with us.
David was regularly invited to lecture and review student work at institutions like Tulane to Cornel and to our most present Penn State.

David also leaves a legacy of professional work including his collaboration with Zaha Hadid on the realization of the world iconic Museum of the Twenty-First Century (MAXXI) in Rome.

David’s joyfully comprehensive professionalism was the hallmark of his contribution. He will be impossible to replace and will forever be remembered as a vital member of our Pantheon Institute family and its most prolific and effective mentor.

Cheers to a great weekend spent in the northern Italy 🍻

North Field Trip gave to the students the opportunity to discover Florence, Verona and Venice cherishing their architectural master pieces.

South field trip 2021 ✔️

The Pantheon Institute students visited the archaeological parks of Pompeii and Paestum.

Two days for two of the major ancient cities located in the south of Italy.
