Various reports indicated that the immigration system was partially damaged, causing an initial halt to immigration processes.

Despite concerns about immigration operations, inbound international flights continued to arrive at Lahore airport without any diversions. Passengers affected by the incident were evacuated from the immigration area due to dense smoke, with operations temporarily shifted to the domestic lounge, as per the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).

Moreover, the incident caused delays in several Hajj and international flights.

The CAA announced that international flights were still operating from the domestic departure lounge, accommodating both Hajj and international flights through domestic facilities.

Regarding Pakistan’s Hajj pilgrimage plans, the Ministry of Religious Affairs announced the government’s plan to operate 11 special flights on the first day of the Hajj 2024 flight operation, set to transport 2,160 pilgrims to Saudi Arabia.

The Ministry disclosed that the flight operation for Hajj 2024 would start on May 9 and continue until June 9. The schedule includes 670 passengers departing from Lahore across three flights, 330 from Karachi in two flights, 680 from Islamabad in three flights, 329 from Multan in two flights, and 151 from Sialkot in one flight.

KARACHI: The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has announced to collect airport fees from domestic passengers .

According to the notification issued by CAA, the aviation authority will collect Rs100 amount pertains to airport charges, security charges and embarkation fee, among others from domestic passengers.

The new charges has come in to effect from January 15.

𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐭

You can book your flight as usual up to your 29th week of pregnancy, as long as you haven’t had any complications or medical concerns.

If you’re travelling during or after your 29th week of pregnancy, you will need to bring a medical certificate or letter signed by your doctor or midwife. You may not be accepted on the flight if you travel without one.

The letter needs to include:

Confirmation of a singleton or multiple pregnancy
That there are no complications during the pregnancy
The estimated date of delivery
The latest date your doctor expects you to be fit to travel
That you are in good health
That there is no known reason that would prevent you from flying

You aren’t allowed to fly after the 32nd week of a multiple pregnancy or the 36th week of a single pregnancy.

If you need to travel, you must apply for medical clearance by submitting a medical information form (MEDIF).
