On February 14th many countries in the world celebrate Valentine's Day.
Originally the Romans had a fertility celebration in mid- February.
However, the origins of what we celebrate today is connected to the Christian commemoration of the saint and martyr Valentine. It's not sure who was the Valentine the day is named aftyer, probably it was a priest of Terni who is said to have helped a fighting couple reconcile giving them a rose, becoming the patron saint of love.
Nowadays couples celebrate this day with romantic gestures, gifts, flowers and, as we all know, chocolates.
One of the most interesting fountains of modern Rome dating to 1927 by Pietro Lombardi. It celebrates the books and faculties of the nearby University of Rome, one of the oldest in the world, established in 1303.
Roasted Chestnuts sold on the streets of Italy. They are picked in October and they are mostly used boiled or roasted. Many are the cakes made with chestnut dough.

Why do we call a type of font Italics? Anything to do with Italy?
The name comes from the fact that calligraphy-similar fonts were first designed in Renaissance Italy, to replace documents traditionally written in a handwriting style. Printers Aldo Manuzio and Ludovico Arrighi were the main type designers involved in this process at the time.
