Amici, il 25 aprile in Italia è una data piena di significato, in quanto ricorda la liberzione dal nazi-fascismo, proprio il 25 aprile 1945. Ma il 25 aprile è una data molto importante pure a Venezia, in quanto è la festa del Santo Patrono: San Marco. In questa data si festeggia la nostra città e non solo, si celebra una splendida tradizione: la festa del bocolo, in cui gli uomini regalano un bocciolo di rosa alle donne.

Però qust'anno vorremmo raccontarvi questa celebrazione, dal punto di vista storico, e per fare ciò, vi condividiamo un articolo di 1600.venezia in cui si racconta la storia di come le spoglie di San Marco arrivarono a Venezia e come poi diventò il Santo Patrono della nostra città.

Tutto ebbe iizio il 31 gennaio del 828, quando i mercanti veneziani Rustico da Torcello e Bono (o Tribuno) da Malamocco insieme al servo Basilio, grazie ad una mossa davvero astuta, riuscirono a trafugare le spoglie del Santo, dalla sua tomba di Alessandria d'Egitto... Hey guys, April 25th in Italy is a date full of meaning, as it recalls the liberation from Nazi-fascism, precisely April 25th 1945. But April 25th is also a very important date in Venice, as it is the celeration of the Saint Patron: San Marco. On this date we celebrate our city and beyond, we live a splendid tradition: the bocolo festival, in which men give a rosebud to women.

But this year we would like to tell you about this celebration, from an historical point of view, and to do this, we are happy to share an article from @1600.venezia which tells the story of how the remains of San Marco arrived in Venice and how he then became the saint Patron of our city.

It all began on January 31st, 828, when the Venetian merchants Rustico da Torcello and Bono (or Tribuno) da Malamocco together with the servant Basilio, thanks to a really clever move, managed to steal the remains of the Saint from his tomb in Alexandria in Egypt...
