Good news, looks like we can open business on 3rd February. Ive put bookings on hold until the first week of February at the moment.

I want to give an important notice, from February I will be working SATURDAYS only. Hopefully this will be preferable for most as I know some clients sadly cant always make the week days.

I have taken some time off during August, experimenting with some new CBD edible projects and spending time with the family.
I shall be back to work on Tuesday 1st September, I will be taking appointments for Tuesdays and Thursdays only, as I will be juggling my time between massaging and making CBD cookies, CBD gummies and CBD yummy jam soon to sell locally. Im really excited to welcome everyone back, i would just like to provide a few extra details on re opening as i will be complying to the Govs guidelines to protect both client and myself.

Health and Safety for all of us: a few tips

If you are feeling unwell, or are in a household self isolating, pls do NOT come into the wellness centre. Lets stay sensible.

Pls sanitise hands on arrival, there will be plenty around to use, or feel free to bring your own.

I have ensured thorough cleaning and airing of the treatment room, before and after every client, its important to arrive on time, as cleaning is needed in between clients.

Its still advisable to attend with a mask

After careful consideration, and in light of the recent advice given by our gov, I shall be postponing all appointments (not closing down). I shall contact all my lovely clients to rebook at later dates, I hope you understand I am erring on the side of safety and caution being mindful of our islanders, our community, and myself and my family during this time.
My line of work involves close contact with clients, so I ask that we play it safe until the coast is clear.

I love my work ❤️ and wish I could carry on bringing wellbeing to all, especially during this crazy time as I think we all need it!
So I hope to see you all lining up fighting your way into my treatment room very shortly to de stress and find a piece of wellbeing.😄

I read this, enjoyed it and thought to repost 😉

MEET THEM WHERE THEY ARE.
This is a phrase I often hear from a certain subset of massage therapists.
We are supposed to listen intently, acknowledge that the client's feelings about their body are legitimate, and provide a safe and accepting space for them to heal.
BUT the minute a client requests "deep-tissue," many of these so-called "client-centered" therapists do the exact opposite...
They presume to know the client's situation better than they do, and turn the session into an opportunity to "educate" the client as to why their preference is somehow wrong, ineffective, or even dangerous.
NEWSFLASH to those therapists...
Some people NEED more pressure for it to actually register. If they don't get it, the entire session feels like a tease... where the therapist *almost* gets the perfect spot/pressure, but never quite hits the mark.
From a client's perspective, that is aggravating as hell!
Not only that, but telling a client they are WRONG to want what they want isn't exactly a rapport-maker... nor does it create a safe, judgement-free zone to heal.
It's just bad business.
So... those clients might sit through your indoctrination ceremony and nod their heads in agreement. They might even tell you you're doing a good job during the session...
BUT, when it comes time to rebook, don't be surprised when they "don't know their schedule," and "have to call you."
When that happens, it means you've missed the mark.
Not giving somebody what they're paying for is bad enough... but telling them they're wrong for wanting it is a slap in the face.
Don't do that.
MEETING THEM WHERE THEY ARE means listening, assessing, and then acting according to the information you just gathered... not on the information you've been indoctrinated with by other therapists (who always seem to have so much time to be the Treatment Police.. instead of being busy SERVING CLIENTS...)
Hmmmmm.... 🤔

If you don't want to do deep-tissue for whatever reason/s... that's cool and you'll get no judgement from me.
But please refer out to someone who does, instead of filling the client's head full of nonsense about why they're wrong.
Doing the former makes you a true professional, while doing the latter is egotistical and a disservice to the profession... since many of those clients may give up on massage altogether after your failed session.

With the unfortunate current situation of the C- virus please be mindful of yourself and others in order to help with the precautions in place.
If you have been to any affected countries and been told to self isolate, please do. Stay at home and rest.
If you are not well or have any concerns, even if it's not corona virus please don't hesitate to reschedule your appointment, its not a problem at all. I completely understand, under these tricky circumstances we are all trying to navigate through as best we can.

🌿 The Art of Blending 🌿

Learning how to blend essential oils is a skilled art form, much like painting a beautiful picture or cooking a tasty meal.

The first requirement is to become familiar with the various natural raw aromatic plant materials.
By becoming familiar with the different ‘families’ of scent it is possible to gradually improvise and create well balanced blends.
Its great to experiment and allow creativity to explore the realm of fragrances and consistencies of the oils.
All plants have different methods to release the oils within the plant materials, so it becomes an important part of the process to also be familiar with the methods.
Methodology is needed, to be able to measure precisely and to keep meticulous records of the oil blending.
Its worth determining if its a mood enhancer or a physical therapeutic blend.

The most interesting part of creating a new blend is the process itself … it is an act of experimentation and discovery!
Each time a new element is added to a blend it changes the character of the whole and even the smallest addition can give birth to something unexpected. For example, a soft floral blend often benefits from the inclusion of something entirely diverse: a hint of a clove or a touch of black pepper perhaps.
Too much spice, however, will instantly overpower the delicacy of the floral notes. For the overall harmony of a
composition it is important to include several components that share chemical constituents or belong to the same
aromatic ‘family’, as this is what helps create a good ‘synergy’.
In this way we find a synergy creating the blended oils with the traditional infusing method using the whole plant
as opposed to extracting certain individual parts of the plant , in this respect the whole is greater than the sum of the separate individual parts.
