I am going to make a helper for him, as a complement of him.’” (Genesis 2:18) The first woman, Eve, was thus provided as Adam’s complement, or counterpart. She was fitted just perfectly to be a helper for him. She was to be a part of God’s purpose for them to produce children and care for them as well as to take care of the earth and its animals. The Bible is not saying that you are to be slaves and God didn't create humans and leave them to suffer, but he did indicate challenges. This is not to outline that women are only meant to be helpers to a man, the point I'm making is that Women or Mothers were meant to be honored for their contribution and I want you to know hold your head high and keep praying to Jehovah for he sees every challenge you face. Sure, life will be difficult at times, and whenever there is pain, it's hard to smile, but even for a few minutes, take a break to focus on yourself, just to know that without you, none of us could be here.

We are living in difficult times and we will face many challenges. Our faith in God will be put to test but it's up to us to maintain our commitment. Be strong and keeping praying regardless of how usless it may seem.

Slow down - Get Some Rest!
Life is rushing past us faster than we can catch it. And when unexpected struggles hit you out of nowhere, you might find yourself feeling like you are running on a hamster wheel, faster and faster but getting nowhere. So I’m giving you permission to slow down. Sometimes we need someone else to remind us that it is ok to rest. Jesus even offers us rest as a result of trusting in Him.

“Come to me, all who labor and are heavily laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light” (Matthew 11:28-30).

We see the same rest offered before Christ in the Old Testament through the prophet Isaiah when he instructed the people that if they would trust in the one true God they would have rest as a result of returning to Him. I love this beautiful picture of rest for us. We can have rest too, but we have to slow down when unexpected struggles try to sabotage our faith.
