Last week, I had the distinct pleasure of being interviewed by Logan Crawford, Emmy Award-winning broadcaster and actor known for his work on various television shows and movies, including "Blue Bloods," "The Blacklist," "Person of Interest," "The Irishman," and "The Big Short." He hosts "Spotlight with Logan Crawford" on The Spotlight Network, where he interviews a range of emerging and established authors, writers, and other creators.
I was delightfully surprised when I got an email from the Book to Life Marketing team that Logan Crawford had invited me back for a second and longer round of interviews, which I did yesterday. Just a short while ago, I received the link to last week's interview, and I couldn't be more thrilled to share it with you all!
Logan Crawford's Spotlight Network aims to showcase literary and creative talents, providing a stage for them to share their stories and work with a global audience through multiple digital streaming platforms like Roku, Amazon Fire TV, YouTube, Facebook, and more.
I am incredibly grateful for this exposure to a global marketplace. Itโs a great honor for my work and a testimony to the living word of God, which says when a man's work is pleasing unto Him, He will take you before kings. I am paying attention to where God is taking my work, from Trilogy Christian Publishing, to The Franklin Reporter & Advocate and now to Spotlight Network.

What an amazing story and opportunity for people with cerebral palsy.
Our CPActive Champion Sophie Geeves, Chair of our โBlaze the Trailโ working group, was recently invited to share her journey and perspectives with the NSW Upper House inquiry into children and young people with disability in NSW educational settings.
Sophie was joined by Professor Iona Novak AM, a world-renowned clinician, cerebral palsy expert and CPAโs Chair of Allied Health.
Sophie shared her experience as a young person with CP in mainstream education, reflecting that, despite a largely positive journey, she faced challenges due to an inflexible system that made it difficult to access reasonable accommodations and supports for exams.
โWe can and should do so much more to support the next generation of young people with disabilities and set them up for positive experiences and equal and fair opportunities โ and this starts with inclusive schooling.โ

Today, I feel compelled to share a testimony that has been weighing on my heart for several days. On this day last year (Holy Thursday: April 6, 2023), Nathan fell ill. After being released from school for spring break and enjoying a wonderful outing, he suddenly began vomiting. Initially, I attributed it to something he had eaten, but deep down, I sensed it was more serious than that.
We rushed him to the ER on Good Friday, April 7th, where we received the alarming news that he had intestinal obstruction and required emergency surgery. On April 8th, he underwent surgery.
But on Easter Sunday (April 9th)/resurrection Sunday, God's intervention and restoration of Nathan began. While I was overwhelmed with fear of the unknown, especially as a parent of a child with special needs accustomed to frequenting hospital visits and the specter of mortality, I ushered in another 'living testament moment' of the supremacy of faith over fear. I often marvel at how, from the moment of his conception, God has used this young man to teach me the invaluable lesson of walking by faith and not by sight. I can truly say today that without God in the boat, the challenges would have overwhelmed and consumed me long ago.
Today, as I look at my beautiful son, who has come into his own spiritual awakening, I see that he is a work of art and a miracle. You cannot look at him and know what he went through one year ago. He has regained the weight lost during his nearly month-long hospitalization and reflux that lasted months after the surgery. He got a standing ovation at his high school graduation and continues to press forward, living his life joyfully and without complaint. He has a remarkable, loving, and supportive global community (please take a bow).
Raising Nathan Against All Odds was the book that God rewrote through this experience. Its release date of April 9 had nothing to do with me. The publisher, TBN/Trilogy Christian Publishing, set the date without my input. Thatโs all God. He will cause all things to work together for our good and His glory.
So, the struggle you're facing today, that persistent challenge that seems unyielding, could be shaping your most powerful message. You see, in God's hands, our struggles aren't meant to destroy us but rather to reveal what we're truly made of, reflecting the image and likeness of God.
Be encouraged; your best days are still ahead. Share this post with someone whom God placed on your heart today. By a copy on Kindle, you can lend it digitally to others you feel could benefit from it - https://a.co/d/8QgCCyr

Today, on National Cerebral Palsy Day in the United States, we shine a spotlight on cerebral palsy (CP), a group of permanent movement disorders that affect millions worldwide (approximately 18 million people of all ages have cerebral palsy worldwide, and around 1 million in the United States).
Manifesting in early childhood, CP stems from abnormal development or damage to the brain areas controlling movement, balance, and posture. Its symptoms range from muscle stiffness or weakness to challenges with speech or vision. While CP is non-progressive, symptoms can evolve over an individual's lifespan. Other factors may contribute to this condition, including brain injuries, infections during pregnancy, or genetic deficiencies.
For children and adults alike, CP impacts mobility, hindering abilities to crawl, walk, run, or sit independently, and fine motor skill development, affecting tasks like feeding, writing, or tying shoelaces. Additionally, CP affects speech, swallowing, and sensory functions, varying in severity and often leading to physical and cognitive impairments.
Treatment involves therapies, medications, and assistive technologies to manage symptoms and enhance quality of life.
Despite its prevalence, misconceptions about CP persist, and many children and adults do not have access to even the most basic support and treatment. Let's raise awareness to support those affected. Understanding, inclusion, and access to resources are crucial. Let's foster a world of knowledge, kindness, and empathy, ensuring inclusivity and support for everyone.

Yes, I know I will put out new books fast in 2024. But as I have learned and experienced, nothing happens before God's timing. As we often say, God will do what hasn't been done in a year (or years) in a day. I last published in 2020, and now I have three books coming out at the same time.
I am excited to announce that my new children's coloring activity book, which teaches emergency tips, is now available on Amazon. I recently updated the cover design, and you can find the book using the following link: https://a.co/d/5WIvP6m

๐โจ Reflecting on the Journey: A Gratitude Visit โจ๐
As I sat in my birthday month in quiet reflection with God this morning, I was overwhelmed with gratitude for the past twenty years of my life. It's been a rollercoaster, to say the least, filled with surprises, challenges, and moments of sheer determination.
From the unexpected pregnancy (of Nathan) to a difficult journey throughout, including a congenital disability diagnosis during pregnancy and a nerve-wracking delivery, to the hospitalization and life-changing surgery, and later diagnosis of my newborn, I've seen my fair share of struggles. There were many times throughout the years when hope felt like a distant dream.
But through it all, God has been our unwavering anchor. He has been steadfast, true, and my constant source of strength, guiding us through the storms- and there were many! He opened doors when we couldn't even see them. So, today, I stand in awe of how He used our experiences to touch the lives of many, reminding us that every trial has a purpose.
From the ashes of those challenging times, I've been blessed to author four books and am on the verge of releasing three more in 2024. I am pleased to share that within the next few weeks and months, I will add the following titles to the bookshelf:
1) "Raising Nathan Against All Odds: Discovering the Blessings, Joy, and Purpose Raising a Child with Disabilities"
2) "The Little Heroes Coloring and Activity Book: 9-1-1 HELP Adventures"
3) "Lose the Fear: Speaking Up with Confidence for Your Special Needs Child
All I can say is, "Look at God!" ๐๐ All the glory belongs to Him, and I am eternally grateful for His faithfulness. ๐ซ
Let this remind us that there is always hope in the darkest moments, even when we don't see it with our natural eyes. God is in charge, and He will never fail us. Keep pressing on, and watch the miracles unfold.
Many of you have been with us on this journey, and I am grateful to you. So, I would like you to be among the first to glimpse some of the book covers!
Blessings!
